2013 GT Premium (My 1st Stang)
2013 GT Premium (My 1st Stang)
Hey guys in a month or so I am planning on ordering me a 2013 GT Premium.
I have decided to either get the car in black or sterling grey (can’t decide between the two).
I think I am going to go with the 19” Luster Nickel wheels, the electronics package, the rearview camera, and Recaro leather sport seats.
Which comes out to $41,460 (ONLINE)
I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on the Recaro seats… Is it worth the upgrade? If not I want the standard seats with the comfort package so the seats would be heated and cooled and powered. I guess I just want to know if the Recaro would be as comfortable as the standard seats for long distance trips with the wife (well soon to be wife in 16 days)
Thanks!
* Also considering a GT base with Recaro seats and the security package.

I also would love it if someone could help me out with buying advice. Things like negotiating and if there is a better way to buy for me to get a better deal .This is my first brand new car I am buying. I have bought 2 used vehicles in cash only
ONLINE prices tend to be MSRP. As for your seat question I have heard the Recaro seats are great but not as nice for long rides. Again what I have heard. I just ordered a new car but I am either going to finance or Smart lease, For me I have a dealer I have dealt with for a while so I was able to get them to come down and throw in some stuff.

I am for sure going to finance with either USAA or my local Credit Union which has the best rates right now.
Goto Edmunds.com or get the app. It will tell you everything you need to know about the car financially. They will tell you the invoice and what you should pay. If your trading in a car it will tell what your trade in is worth.
I can give a bit of advice when ordering. If you're looking to take advantage of incentives, know that you are entitled to what is available when the car hits the lot, not what is currently available. When I was shopping, I was set on one color, but the last two weeks of August, Ford threw in an additional 500 cash back for a total of 1000 which put my e-price at invoice, so I jumped at what was available, but that's another story.
I started by Googling every dealership within a fifty mile radius and emailed their fleet/internet manager and told them what I wanted and made sure they knew I was shopping different dealerships and I was not going to haggle which there were three outcomes: a quote, a call, or no reply at all. When they called, I stated I was interested in a quote only and I was not going to see what was "on the lot" as it would wast me time. It took about three months or so to get what I wanted at the price I wanted.
You might get lucky and find something pretty dern close to what you are looking for at a great price, but you might have to sacrifice something you want like color or certain options. I would definitely go the email route first. Even if you order, shop around.

Thank you so much for that information! Never would have even thought about emailing.

Took a solid 3 hour drive, my back usually used to start aching after an hour or so in my old car and I would squirm around...never had to move around once in the new stang, the seats are amazing! get them, you will not regret it!!!!
I was pretty upset at ford for making cloth only available on the base bc i would have bought a premium, but since the leather recaros arent heated, it would be freezing in the winter :/

N3kKo, wow, new car and new Wife. It doesn't get any better. Good advise has already been given, so I won't add too the confusion. A good guy, and good source for info. is 05fordgt (Jeff), a member of the forum, and top notch Mustang salesman. When I was ordering he got back in the game with some great answers. Send him a PM, he'll be glad to help. Tell him wanted33 (Jim) sent you. One thing to remember when your considering invoice price. It is a bit different than you will see on the Edmunds and Kelly Blue book sites. Dealers add on advertisement and fuel fees along with dealer document fees. These fees are different from dealer to dealer so you need to ask when talking with the dealers so you can make an educated offer. In my area of North Carolina, and my dealer the adjustments along with the doc. fee amounted to a little over 1000 bucks. It looked like this, invoice from Edmunds on a $43,415 MSRP was $40,015. Dealer adjusted invoice w/ fuel & advertisments fees was $40,707 (the price I paid). Dealer Doc. fees were $499.50 added to that. Not to worry, we all pay these fees. Good luck you will love the Mustang. And congratulations on the wedding.
