I can't find anything on the MGW unfortunately. Maybe I'm just retarded. I did find this though and it includes the Shift Bracket and a Short Throw.

I've been on forums and it's kinda been 50/50 on what people preferred. I hear both are very reputable. Only thing is, I don't know if that's a good price because I don't have anything to reference it with

You can only get MGW shifters direct and you usually have to wait a bit:

http://www.mgwltd.com/mustang_2010-Present.shtml

If you travel a lot, Id say 3.55s unless mpg/cost is of no concern. I drive almost all city, spirited and am down to 12.4 mpg FWIW. Youll obviously do better on the highway. You can just order a specific gearing though Im not sure of the default/limitations on a CS. Check the order guide.

In regard to the Borlas, be aware that theyre pretty damm loud. I have s-types and theyre like twice as loud as I expected. Sounds cool, but tough to get on it without alerting everyone in a half-mile radius. Considering Touring myself for a little more stealth with the same tone.

I'll look into the MGW's a bit more. Thanks for the info on getting one. I still don't know what I'll end up with going with. The Barton is cheaper by about 50 bucks but then again I'd rather have the best there is as far as that goes. If the Barton is just as good though for the price...

And as far as the Borlas go. Thanks for the info on them. I haven't heard them in person. Just on Youtube. How are the S types at idle? I want something that's louder than stock by a bit at idle but when I romp on it, to scream. That's why I'm such a big fan of what I've "seen"(like I've said, I've only seen youtube videos) on them. And the tonal qualities in my opinion are better than anything out there. I personally don't like how Flows or Bassani sound on the new Coyotes and Magnaflows to me sound better on Chevy's than Fords by default. Again that's my opinion. Not talking smack. But yeah, if it's "relatively" quiet or not obnoxious at idle, I think I'll still go with Borla Atak or S-type.

Yeah the tone cant be beat. Ive gotten used to driving with em for the most part, but uphill in low gears with 3.73s, its impossible to keep quiet. I set off car alarms on my street without really trying, lol.

If you are trying to decide on gears, look around at the ford dealers and see if someone has a 3.55 car and a 3.73 car. Drive both and see which one is more fun. FWIW, all the threads I have ever seen on several Mustang forums that have gear swap questions and comments have been about stepping up to a 3.73 from a 3.31 or 3.55, not the other way around.

I'll have to do that. I know there's a boss with at my local dealership as well as a couple GT's and CS's. I'll have to check them out. Thanks for the tip, never thought about that.

As far as the last part I don't think I 100% understand what you mean. I'm not looking into swaps just what I want to order the car with. If you're meaning everyone eventually steps up to 3.73's or larger then that I agree with. But I'm looking at something that'll be kinda that happy medium. But with the gas mileage these cars get(which is pretty good for 420hp) I might just go with the 3.73's so I won't have to swap them later if I decide to. I'm just not sure. I'll have to test drive both and see.

That's what I meant. Get what you really want and not have to swap it later on. Both my 2011 GT/CS and the Boss were/are 3.73 cars.

Fair enough. Just making sure that's what you were meaning.

I guess I'm to the point to where now I'm nit-picking every single thing. I've never bought a new car before so I guess, I'm just trying to make sure I get all my research done before hand, so that I end up with what I really want

Follow the links from the mgw page to the svt video clips. The demonstration showing the OEM unit to the MGW is the money shot. Would Ford liked to have made a better and more expensive shifter? Sure, but the cost for over tens of thousands of units per year would have been prohibitive. Domestic automakers (as opposed to say Ferrari, Bugatti, etc) are constrained by the bean counters and the design engineers are in a constant battle over profitability margins.

I put that clip on youtube to demonstrate the increased feel and 'force feedback' (to use a joystick term) of the beefier MGW. Perhaps I should do the same on my wife's GT to show the much easier and softer 'rowing of the gears' with the stock shifter.

I am sure that the Barton and Steeda brackets are fine and offer improved performance for those that prefer the lighter shifting action of the stock shifter. It's already a short throw, so that particular feature isn't as big of an improvement as is the better feedback. I put my faith in the the guy on the BMO forum who has tried all of the other brands, and recommended the MGW, cost be damned.

I wish I got an advertising bonus for all the props I give to MGW, but it's worth every cent. And for the owner of the company to install your MGW for FREE if you drive you car over to his shop, in my mind he deserves some free advertising. It's stiff as hell when new and a bit notchy when cold, but after it breaks in over about thousand miles, it really transforms the car into a whole new beast. Feels like a real performance machine.

All Mustang owners should consider these 4 mods before any others;

1) Hood struts - no more silly prop rod!
2) Replace the craptastic front 6x8 speakers in the doors!
3) Exhaust upgrade of your choice.
4) MGW FTW!

I'll look more into the MGW for sure. He'll install them for free? Where's he located at?

Hood struts ARE a must. My first car was a '68 Mustang. Back then all they had were ginormous spring brackets for the hoods. Granted the hoods were probably easy double the weight but I loved that about older Mustangs.

I'm still sold on Borlas haha.

And the 6x8's can wait til I do the other mods that are more crucial in my opinion. Besides. They've got like 6 more speakers haha

IMO, after looking through websites and reading multiple threads on MGW vs Barton vs Steeda shifters, there is no question the MGW is the best bang for the buck.
George, the owner of the company and designer of the shifter, installed mine a week or so ago and I am very impressed with the shifter.
MGW is located in Augusta, GA and the install is free.

I'm following MGW's links off their page now. I'm looking into their kits. I just hope I can find one with the little adapter plate deal as well as the shifter. I'm sure it's out there. I hear that that's the cause for a lot of the "trans failures/problems" and I don't know how the hell the fact the trans has no tail housing works but I'm not an engineer. Regardless I hope that helps with longevity and durability. I'd hate to buy a brand new car and have something big break. But that's what a warranty is for.

Thanks for all the tips and advice guys. I really appreciate it. I feel a little better about ordering this CS now. Like I said I've never bought a new car so all the feedback is a huge help. Unfortunately I gotta wait on ordering it for now. Long story but bright side is no car payments which can go towards the exhaust, shifter, hood struts, etc.

Adapter plate? When you are ready, just give them a call and they can answer any questions you have. You can re-use your existing shift ball, or get a new one. Good luck when you are ready to order, you can also get one of the guys here on TMS to help you track your car once you get your VIN as described in the ordered/built/delivered threads.

Rear Mount Bracket* I guess is what they're called. Did a bunch of research on them. And that's awesome! I'll have to do that. I'll keep you guys posted on it when it's closer to "pull" the preverbial trigger haha. I can't wait but of course I gotta wait til I can. Not quite there yet.

So it might end up being a 2014 after some research. I am under the assumption the order dead line is over for the 2013's.

Anyways regardless I should be ready to order it in a week or two. I'm super pumped. I don't know when the 2014's will start rolling in if I missed the deadline for the 13's. I think it's still kinda up in the air. Oh well. I'm excited regardless!

Awesome, Ian_289!

My name is Deysha with Ford Service. You’re right regarding the 2013 order banks. They have been closed since the 1st of November. The 2014s will start building at the end of this month, and I’m sure we’ll start seeing them arrive around mid-end of February.

Once you place your order, make sure to PM me so I can track it for you. Just send your dealer’s name and order number.

Well I should be making the order in the next week or so. I'm told after you put in the order it takes 6-8 weeks to get the car which is no biggie. But I'll PM you the info on it when it's ordered. Spending that kind of coin I'd like to keep track of it. Thanks a bunch for doing all that. You guys are awesome.

Not sure what you guys are talking about, do you have anymore details on what this bracket is ?
