2013 GT 0 - 60 in 6.14 seconds?? Slow?
Hey guys, have you seen this video comparing a V6 vs V8 2013 Mustangs? It took the guy 3 attempts on the V8 to get a 0-60 run, looks like he was having problems with the shifter. But then he was only able to get 6.14 seconds. I thought the 2013 Gts were faster than that?

That video was kind of pathetic. Sad they try to pass that off as an accurate representation of the car's capability. Most sources put its 0-60 time in the mid to high 4's and countless youtube videos back this up, either through 0-60 tests or quarter mile runs. Elevation, weather conditions, and driver all play critical roles in acceleration, and maybe one or more of those were off. Plus, there were two full grown men in the car. Not sure why they both had to go along...
To be honest, I stopped watching halfway through. Maybe they did address adverse conditions at the end. I'd hope so, because that was not a fair video.

Manual trans 2011+ Mustangs are not easy cars to drive well. I've been driving manuals all my life, and it took me a month or so to get really good at driving mine where I could get 0-60 runs in under 5 seconds consistently. The launch is super critical to get right, and then it's really easy to miss shifts, as anybody with a 6MT knows already.

Yeah i saw that video last week or so. Baffled me, guy driving the GT couldn't shift for the life of him. Add to that, elevation is about a mile high and that drastically effects the way the car will perform at that altitude. Was still a dumb video.

LOL! I'm laughing because guys, for those of that have issues with the MT-82 transmission, you're seeing a great example of it. As he goes to shift at high RPM's, it's as if he doesn't even have the clutch pushed in. Probably a combination of the shifter/bracket and pressure plate not being strong enough. Notice on how the first run he looks all confused and starts to say in a confused manner something about letting the clutch out too soon. But doesn't finish his sentence because HE DIDN'T LET THE CLUTCH OUT!!!! He just looks all confused. That was me for the first month with my car. All confused thinking that I somehow had completely lost my ability to drive a manual.

But also yes, a combination of the higher altitude and the fact that they probably don't want to be completely beating on cars given them to demonstrate for their website. They probably want to be able to test cars in the future so they aren't killing them.
