2013 Boss at the Indy Auto Show

Nice shots! I'm really interested in seeing a '13 in black, more specifically the back end... I have a feeling with the gloss black finish of the plastic between the tail lights, the effect will be lost, but I bet it would look pretty nice in the evening with just a little backlight.

Nice shots of the Boss 2013's. I took a few but yours are better.
Couple questions:
1) WHY do they have an exhaust inSIDE an exhaust?! I don't understand the "Quad" and I dont understand the "Baby" exhaust.
2) whoever posted that red GT with those cool rims above... YES! Those belong on this car.
3) I couldn't find any fogs on the Boss today, are they hidden in the lower corners of the front end?

The Boss comes with standard GT mufflers that they weld on a polished tip. Will be replacing mine with GT-500 mufflers for this reason besides more sound.
The Quad exhaust is because the Boss has 2 exhaust outlets that exit just in front of the rear wheels + the standard exhaust with the axle-back mufflers.

Thanks for posting the Grabber Blue pics. IMO the '13 GT500 looks better than the Boss in GB but that is not the right reason to buy either car.
So what's up with the two thin horizontal red bars in the rear apron? Do they light up with the tail lights and/or brake lights or are they just reflectors?

The design of the quad exhaust with its sidepipes was to enhance the sound while keeping the car within the legal noise limit, keep in mind that the 5.0-liter Mustang GT already ran close to the legal limit. After adding another noise source (the sidepipes), designers had to reduce the sound coming from the mufflers (GT mufflers) by making a simple muffler tip modification, which is the pipe within the pipe. This modification plus the restrictor plate in each sidepipe with its 5/16-inch orifice keeps the Boss right at the legal noise limit. The designers made the restrictor plates easily accessible and removable by the customer customer for "track purposes" To learn more about the 2012 Boss 302, I recommend reading Donald Farr's book Mustang Boss 302 From Racing Legend to Modern Muscle Car, were I got this information.

I like the 2nd and last pic from Topnotch's Grabber Blue pix as you can finally see the 'reflectivity' of the new stripes. I think this will be a definite 'love it or hate it' feature of the new model. I think it will look killer on the Black LS models and my fav, Race Red.
Still *WAITING IMPATIENTLY* for some photoshops of Race Red and Perf White!!

Really like the GB and Black Trim and tail-end. I don't care at all for the Pep Boys looking same colored rockers. Something about the proportions and wheels that just doesn't look right. Kind of reminds me of a 2005 V6 with small wheels that someone put a ground effects package on. Front-end, I dunno, like the sleakness of the 12 better but it is OK. The thing I don't like is the loss of uniqueness.

I am just so impressed how Ford improved the backend.

For those of us who are old enough to remember seeing the original Boss Mustangs on the street it was just the opposite. The 1970 Boss 302 is what comes to mind when anyone mentions the original Boss 302. Also keep in mind that the SCCA Trans AM racing series was very popular back then and the Boss 302 won the championship in 1970 which probably also helped make that year the more memorable of the two. The car mags had lots of pictures of Parnelli Jones' and George Follmer's race cars. IMO that is why a lot of people were surprised and maybe a little disappointed when the 2012 cars came out with the 1969 style stripes instead of the 1970 style. I too am glad Ford chose to make the '12 and '13 different from each other and I believe that will help to make both years collectable, especially if they are only produced for these two years. I imagine there have already been and will be a few more collectors out there who purchase a new Boss to match the old one in their garage.
