2013 Base GT Xplan Pricing?

Been a member for a while but usually just lurk around. But....finally getting around to purchasing my first pony and looking for some help. I've searched up and down and just need to know what Xplan pricing is and invoice on a completely base 2013 GT with the 6 speed manual. The spec sheet I have from the dealer for the car I'm looking at lists $30,300 as the price before destination and delivery. It's a no options GT in deep impact blue with the stick.

Can anybody help me out?

I bought a 2013 GT Base with track pack and recaro seats for 33,100 so I believe you should be able to get it for around 29,000.

I have always been curious about this..if everyone pays near invoice, how do these dealers keep the lights on? The service bays are always empty when I pop in...just a question of curiosity, nothing more.

You can look at it this way. The invoice price pretty much includes what they need to keep the lights on.. it's what the car cost them + the cost of business, staff, utilities, etc. so invoice is still more of a break even price even though it's not what the car itself actually cost

The dealers usually make their money on the service area of the dealership, and also get kickbacks for setting up financing (in my years of dealing with this, I estimate those financing kick backs to be over $1,000). Then there's the fortune they make by undervaluing your trade in. Not to mention the extras like floor mats, etc. and extended warranties. Hopefully some salespeople can chime in.

The Edmunds article is pretty accurate. The holdback doesn't turn into profit once the dealer has to start paying floorplan costs on the car. These costs are heavy, especially if the car is there for a while. The holdback helps pay that and other things like the lights, pay, etc. Dealers make most of their money in service, and in finance. As for undervaluing trades, that is hard to do nowadays with the internet and online sites showing what they are selling for. Things are much more transparent then they were years ago.

What I always say, is let the dealer have the holdback. They need it to stay running. Whenever I have a customer to insists on it, I straight up as them, what they do for a living. If they own a business, like remodeling a home. I'll ask them to do a full kitchen remodel for me at below their cost. They will instantly say "No, I'm a businessman and have to earn a living". Well, so do I, lol.

In closing, the article is very well done.

X-Plan Clarification on 2013 Mustang GT Premium

X-Plan Clarification on 2013 Mustang GT Premium

Hello All

I am looking to buy the 2013 Mustang GT Premium on the X-Plan and I wanted some clarification.

Lets say the car invoice price is $33000. I understand that the X-Plan pricing is something around this number.

What i would like to know is that do Ford Incentives and offers apply on the X-Plan pricing ? Or do they only apply on the actual selling price of the dealer ?

Viz, $33000-(All incentives - Currently 2000+1000+1500) = $28500.

Would this be how the sale looks ?

Any further advice on this / ways to say more money / any help works !!

Thanks !!

You don't need to post the same thing all over the forum. just post it once & I'm sure it will be seen and answered.
