2013-14 Mustang V6 long tubes...

Interested in getting some long tubes for my car. I'm able to pick up a pair of the borla's and xpipe at a really good price. Can any members give me some opinions on the long tubes for our v6's? Whether you have it or have heard it. I know it's gonna get raspy, is the only way to somewhat avoid that is to get a carted shorty x pipe?

It honestly doesn't matter if you have a 4/6/8/10 cyl and so on. Letting your car breath better is going to improve performance. Keep in mind that you're going to lose backpressure thus, decrease a little bit of low end TQ.

What's a "really good price"?

On the 3.7 V6, headers are the very last performance mod to do as the return on investment performance-wise is pretty low.

and he's asking 500 for them. They retail for 889 I think. I'm assuming I'd be 10x better off spending 600 on a used unlocked/unmarried tuner, gears and a Cai?

That's a tough one-For what they're being listed at it sound good but I might take a look into a CAI & Tuner Combo Kit as it's only $99 more. I can see that you're eligible for our forum discount as well. Shoot me a PM if you don't have it and I'll get it set up!

I'd skip the CAI and just do the tuner and gears, unless you really want the sucking sound from the CAI.

Unlocked tuner with what tune? Tune match the pcm code on your car?

Otherwise you will have to get a new tune loaded on it.

And all of this also depends on what you want out of the mods.

This. Best bang for the buck.

I have long tubes with a catted shorty x pipe. Exhaust still a little raspy even with the Magnaflow street axle backs. I like everything i've done to my v6 Mustang.

I also have long tube headers and a catted shorty X pipe. Sounds great paired with bassani axle backs.
