2012 Mustang GT Engine Failure: need ideas
Hi guys,
Unfortunately, my engine blew up at only 42k miles. The mechanic says I need a new engine and I have no warranty. He suggested I get a Ford Re-manufactured engine. Everything installed would be 10k.
is this good or do I have other sensible options. The car is in great shape otherwise and I had just done the suspension ~3k dollars worth.
Any advice welcome.
thanks
Gus

Had Plenty of Good Experiences with the Ford Reman Engines We Installed at the Various Dealers I Worked At. When Installed At Dealership Warranty is Easily Facilitated at Any Ford Dealer!
Find Out Exactly What is Going to Be Done Are They Simply Installing Engine Or Are They Also Getting Radiator Cleaned & Replacing Belts & Hoses as Well Etc??
If It is a Stick May Be A good Time For a Clutch & Incidentals While You Are Right There! Need Underhood Looked at with a Fine Tooth Comb for Any Other Weak Links So No Bill Surprises Later!
If it is a Forever Car Spend The Dough! If your Wanting More Move On! These Days I would Be Wary of a Used Motor Cause You Never Know How it Was Treated! Labor is Not Cheap and a Do Over Could Get Expensive Real Quick!
My 02 Harley Truck I Bought New has a 110K On Her and The Wife & I Will Keep it Till the End. If the Motor Went I Would Go The Ford Reman Route Myself.
I would Get Estimates From 2 or 3 Dealers and Try For a 10-15% Discount on Job. You Can See the Markup on Engines at this Link. Put in your Vin To Narrow Down. FYI, These Motors Can Be Ordered Online and Drop Shipped Anywhere. At Least We Did That When I Was Still Working. The Core Truck Can Retrieve at a Private Shop as Well! Like I Said We Could When I Was Working!
I Would Make Sure Your Mechanic Priced Correct Engine For Your Car! Quite a Difference Depending On Vin!
