bumping this to the top....any more "insider news on potential changes to the 2012 GT's?

Any chance Recaro's become an option on the GT's?
How about the GT500's rear valence/spoiler an option as mentioned before?

Nothing major on the GT changes. Possibly some new color options, like Atlantis Green or Monterey Grey to replace others, but again, nothing concrete.

As for the GT500, we should hear more soon. I suspect the Recaros will be offered on it as an option, or as part of the SVT PP with a slightly higher price. There have been rumblings of larger brakes, but that's a rumor for the most part.

The Boss is the big news here, and pricing/allocation will be released soon. I don't see anything else major coming out, aside from that...

We'll find out in November just as the order bank opens. I'm still hoping that they move the rear view camera from the spoiler to the emblem...

HomeLink would be great! I posted YouTube vids of a HomeLink-equipped (visor) 2011 this spring, but I guess that was pre-production and didn't make it into the retail cars. HomeLink is really the only basic "luxury" touch the Mustang is missing IMHO. Should be cheap and easy to incorporate, wonder why Ford hasn't done it yet...

Oh they won't do that. The Boss is coming with 440, right? They're not going to step on its toes by upping the standard GT like that.

Would be nice to see Atlantic Green and some more Grabber colors become permanently available (hope they keep GB!).

With any luck today my employment situation will change and I will be starting a new job in October, so no 2011 or 2012 for me, but hopefully a 2013!!

yes i believe the original press releases on the 5.0 said it was designed for future upgrades like Direct injection and forced induction. my guess is we will see the DI come on the 2014 redesign.

There WAS an excellent, detailed 15-page article about the 5.0's development posted this spring.

In that article, it was explained that the 5.0 was designed from the start to basically be "plug-and-play" for DI & FI. They went ahead and made the engine DI-ready for the future even though it wouldn't employ it initially, because they didn't want to have to go back and do more engineering at some later date.

Does that mean DI will appear on the basic GT models in 2012? Hell no. The 5.0 already makes excellent power and economy without DI.

The DI provisions are there probably for an FI version that will be used in the Shelby replacement or the 2015 redesigned GT model.

I'm willing to bet $100 fake internet dollars that we won't see DI on the Mustang in 2012, 2013, or 2014.
