2011 V6 Torque Curve
2011 V6 Torque Curve
I found a torque curve graph of the old V6 and I'm wondering what the new 2011's torque curve looks like. Anyone got a chart?
Here's the 2010 V6 for comparison.

I test drove a 2011 V6 Mustang auto today. Pretty interesting. Punch it from a dead stop & it acts like a typical V6. Probably wouldn't break the tires loose. But around 3500 rpm it REALLY wakes up. I let it redline shift (6800) all the way to 85 or 90 mph. Not your mom & dad's V6 for sure. It loves to rev.

I guess it was standard. Here's the window sticker:

Yes, the 3.31's will make a huge difference for off-the-line acceleration. They are a must on this car for anyone who actually enjoys driving.
And the 3.31 was my last "Yeah, I gotta have that" option on the car. I knew it would reduce fuel economy VERY SLIGHTLY but the trade off is SO worth it. For the money, definitely worth it. You'll feel it every time you take off.

The 2.73 rear gears are only there for the over 300 horsepower and over 30 miles per gallon (EPA) rating 'record'. I went with the 3.31 rear ratio. From what i've read, even with the 3.31 gear ratio the engine is only doing 1,800 r.p.m. at 60 m.p.h.
