2011 V6 road test

First one I've seen, not sure if it is real though, seems like a lot of inconsistancies from what we've heard elsewhere...

Yea, that was a little.... empty. It's like they looked at the tech specs and then just wrote a blurb on each one:

"The 3.55 gears. Wow, they really help the car take off!"

We're all anxious for news... but I want quality articles. Asking too much?

I think that article is fake. They didn't write anything that suggested they actually drove the car. It was pretty much just a rehash of info already known.

As everyone is waiting on the full out specs.
Not just another page of what the car has...

First line claims the guy drove it...

FIRST DRIVE—When the keys were tossed to us for the first time, we weren’t sure what to expect from the new 2011 V6-powered Mustang
From the text though, it seems like the drive took place quite a while back, before all the details of the final production had been nailed down.

And it was not a road test, just a first drive.

Maybe faked, maybe not...

Apparently all he did tho was turn it on, sit in it, and reiterate the media guide on the v6. I don't think he "drove" it.

We want data!
0-60, 60-0, 0-100, 45-65 0-100-0, 1/4 mile, slalom, skidpad, figure 8, real driving mpg... Numbers!

The more the better.

Not fake, not really a road test. It was a first drive by an established auto author (Chevy Expert).
It is what it is.

It probably wasn't blocked by embargo because it had a complete lack of anything interesting in it. lol.

What I find funny, is many articles over ther past few months have been using this same Black 2010 V6 Mustang picture with the 18" wheels that are NOT available on an '11.

Couple of typos (AT 19/30 MPG) and the 8 qt. oil pan of the GT.

Certainly hope the V6 holds 8 QT's too ... don't see how else they are they going to get to 10k oil changes on 5 QT's without using Full synthetic 10k oil.

Anyone else notice they claimed an integrated garage door opener? I didn't follow that other thread where it was mentioned to the end, but it sounded like it wasn't going to be happening. Did something change?

I imagine those photos are "stock" photos. They're recycled from Ford media guides, etc. Probably some term or condition related to the media blackout, etc.

That test didn't tell us anything we all didn't already know.

If the 5.0L holds 8 quarts of oil and can go 10,000 miles between oil changes. The 3.7L can also go 10,000 miles between oil changes but only (from everthing i have read) holds 5 quarts of oil, i wonder how is this safely possible.......

Well, my '04 Mustang V6 holds 5 qts with the filter, but every description of the '11 3.7 V6 says "deep sump cast aluminum oil pan", so I can't imagine that it is only 5 qts with the filter.
