2011 V6 Mustang 1000 Lap Challange @ Bristol this week ...
I registered for this way back in March and was wondering if it had already taken place.
Well it is set to happen Wednesday, so if you have not entered a guess as to how many laps the V6 AT Mustang will go on one tank of gas you still have time to enter ...

So, based on your recent real-world data, what do you think?
I think it will definitely go over 1000, if it wouldn't they wouldn't be doing it . . . it's only a question of how many laps over 1000 . . .

I think I made my guess back in March based on 35 MPG ... however, I don't remember what the track length is per lap.
In a controlled environment at the ideal speed for maximum MPG's, I'd think my car may be able to hit 35 MPG !!
So if this heavier "Premium" model with M/T & 235 mm wide performance meats could maybe do my original guess, then a lighter base model with A/T and skinny 215 mm Michelin mileage tires should have no problem doing even better.
Anyway, I was thinking I should boost my guess up a bit !!

Bristol is .5333 miles around..... I put in for 926... 31MPG calculated to 930 laps. It's much a guess as anything since there is no disclosure on "how" this will be performed... Is this a "right off the showroom floor" car... broken in, or no mileage... At what speed will they run? Auto or stick? etc...

Yeah, I definitely added quite a bit in there for the fuel lines and filler tube. I expect they will find the absolute ideal mileage speed and cruise there on the innermost line of the track. They will smash 1000 laps for sure.

I'd say between 55-65 MPH will be the sweet MPG spot so at 35 MPG out of a 16 gallon tank, were talkin' 560 miles or a 8.6-10.2 Hour non-stop boring as hell drive !!
I'm thinking my guess was between 1050-55 laps.
