Yeah, they slammed it pretty hard.

Doesn't match up well with the real world experiences of owners on here so far.

I really am not a fan of the sound of V-6 cars, but honestly like the sound of the 3.7 in the new Stang... definitely not seeing how these guys reached their conclusion.

I used to like Automobile mag but lately they've been a little weird. I read that article and was really doing the . It beats the Camaro, it beats the Genesis and provides significant competition for the Nissans at a major monetary savings. Some of the stuff they said just seemed almost made up imo. Who knows. Some mags still just have a hard time giving Ford a thumbs up. They're still stuck in the hater days.

Car and Driver recently did an article looking at all of the 2011 "pony cars" (Ford, Dodge, Chevy - both V-8 and V-6 versions), as well as the Genesis.

In the V-6 comparison, the Genesis came out on top, with the Mustang second. In the overall comparison, where reviewers were asked to rate their top picks in order, the Mustang V6 placed as high as third on a couple of the lists, meaning reviewers at C&D were picking the Mustang V6 over the Chevy V8!

The Mustang GT placed first on all of the reviewers' lists, by the way. I think there were about six reviewers. Great article.

I was surprised at the amount of negativity. They complain that the V6 sounds like a V6. What they hell do they expect it to sound like, a Jaguar V12? I've driven a few quick miles in my cousin's 2011 V6 Mustang and found the engine and transmission very satisfactory. Thoughts of truck engines never came to my mind. I'd like to see the list of cars at this price point that have superior performance, style, features, refinement, and build quality.
