2011 V6 anyone?

I've read many threads here, and most of y'all planning to get GT.
But is anyone out there planning to get V6?
My plan is either V6 or GT, but automatic for sure.
I've had 3 cars in past with MT and now I'm tired of shifting.
(My current ride is 08 V6 MT with Brenspeed tune and it has tons of torque.)

I'm thinking V6 AUTO 3.31 gear OR GT AUTO no gear avail. (MCA pkg w/ gear or GT/CS)
I'm no racer and we don't have circuits here San Antonio.
But I love the thrust when I accelerate.
It is too early to say but will be there tunes for these new engines?
Do you think 2011 V6 AUTO and gear with tune will give thrust close to normal GT?
Of course GT is the right answer but I'm a student, and it won't be impossible but little tough to afford it.

What y'all think about V6 and/or AUTO?

And I've read order guid and found white exterior with brick red is not possible.
Can ne1 confirm that?

That's what I want. Truely I wish I could swap out the drivetrain and put it in my 07

An older model GT perhaps.

I was planning on getting the V6 at first, it will be a sweet car. I love that they are finally putting dual exhaust on it.

Really you could also get a nicely equipped 2010 GT... as opposed to a 2011 v6. For a comparable price now. Not that the v6 is a bad choice in anyway. But the v8 sound and punch is will what will sell you on it. Just another choice.

And I think that you CAN get white on Red. On the 2010 you can- can't see why that would change...

You can get Brick Red with Performance White but only if you are getting a GT with the Premier Trim (401A) package.

I'm leaning toward the V-6, automatic with 3.31 gears. 305 horsepower is enough for me. With near 50/50 weight distribution and you just never know where gas prices will head in the future.

Actually the weight distribution, is better in the 2010 than in the 2011 with the 2010 at 53/47 and the 2011 54/46. That according to the V6 spec sheet... so the front in the 2010 is 6% heavier than the rear and in the 2011 the front is 8% heavier than the rear. That with no one sitting in it... So if anything the 2011's weight distribution... got worse!

I think I might wait until some wrecks one and then do that

I am waiting on the final specs (weight, etc.), and to drive it.
If it feels like my 05 GT or close, it will be a very tempting option.
After my first V6, I said "never again," but this is a whole different car that sounds truly worth a look.

I'm either getting a GT coupe or a V6 convertible, haven't decided yet. The v6 isn't so bad, decent power, a bit lighter.

As good as 305hp sounds, it's not all about peak figures. I'd never buy a V6 Mustang but that's just me. Ecoboost may change my mind lol. I still love all Mustangs.

me! me!

yes!

Hi, I just joined the forum to discuss exactly this topic!

I had almost decided to get a V6 Camaro when I heard about the new V6 Mustang, now I am going to wait to see if it is really as good as it sounds. It could be the best of all worlds --

- plenty good performance for anything I will ever do with it (V6 Camaro has that too)
- great fuel economy -- almost as good as my current Camry, guilt free!
- reasonable price point
- lower cost insurance than V8
- should out-handle the Camaro
- better visibility than the Camaro
- subjective . . . maybe not as cool looking as the Camaro . . . subjective, go easy! ! ! ! !

I'll go with the manual to up the fun-factor a bit, V6 is a big enough compromise already.

By the numbers the '11 V6 should be close to the '10 V8 for acceleration . . . doesn't have the torque of the V8, but also weighs less

I kinda like the Candy (apple) red myself . . .

that's what I keep hearing, but the dealers around here are still sticking to about $2,000 below MSRP

that is not making sense to me . . . I also saw the press release saying near perfect 50/50 weight distribution, where are these specs coming from? going to an aluminum block from iron in the V6, or going from an aluminum V8 to an aluminum V6, I don't see how the engine could get heavier . .. anyway time will tell, once the magazines get their hands on them

that sounds like a plan . . . yes a completely different animal . . . traditional view is "muscle car" must be a V8 . . . but it's really about performance, isn't it?

Not sure where in MA you are but check over the border in NH. http://www.fordoflondonderry.com I remember this one having a number of deeply discounted 2010 models.

I would miss V8 torque.

But I will definitely take it for a test drive when it comes out.

Test drive them, then make your decision. I personally want power between the two. I guess I will just have to compromise, just hoping that the wallet doesn't make the decision for me.

Keep in mind guys with the V6 stang you can run deeper gears than the S97 up until 2010 with its 7k rpm and less torque. I think these cars are going to run strong with gears. I mean look at M3's, they only make 295lbs of torque yet they run mid 12's in the 1320 and do 0-60 in 4.1.

I love the torque and sound of a V8 and normally wouldn't seriously consider a V6 Mustang but I have to admit that I wouldn't turn up my nose at a 2011 V6.

Supposedly the Ford guys spent time trying to make the Mustang V6 sound good. Will have to wait until the V6s are on lots to see how well the Ford guys did.
