Question 2011 Release?

Hey everyone, Ive been looking at the new 2011 and Im loving it so far. I have been seeing people talking about going into production this month. But, my question is when do you think these will be available at a local dealership? My current lease is ending April 25, would that leave me enough time to be able to pick one of these up?

Also the company I work for is part of the X-Plan, does anyone know what type of discount that would usually get you?

Thanks.

That's about when they'll start showing up at dealers.

Hey bud, welcome to the site. You'll love it here!!! Everyone is great and very helpful. Your X-Plan discount will take you right to the basic bottom of the invoice price. Your about $140 over invoice (and this is an approximation as I don't have specs on your car in front of me to get the exact figure). If you wanted an exact sale price, let me know what options you want and I'll work up the price for you.

As for availability? If you order one, and the dealer submits it retail, It may be after April you get your car. Job#1 is March 22, and right now, all Ford is doing is scheduling stock units for dealer inventory.

I bought my 2010 with the X-plan. It's a no negotiation price. You walk in, say, "Yo, I'm x-plan" and if the dealer does the x-plan thing, they show you the invoice, they show you the price, and that's all there is to it. Any rebates you get can still be applied too.

And I think there's also a cheaper Doc fee. My dealer had a sign saying Doc fees were 150, but I only got charged 75.

Hey bud, that is exactly how easy it is for X-Plan! About the Doc fee? There was a max amount to charge, but Ford dropped that years ago.

i wrote in another thread asking about the x-plan. i just bought an escape and the dealer i go to all the time gave me $24 over invoice. i guess that is better than x-plan? he said that i would get a better deal if i didnt use the x-plan for me. so im thinking which one will be better when i get the next mustang.

Are you sure about that Doc fee? Not that you don't know your stuff, it's just I remember the FAQ clearly explaining that the dealer would charge a maximum of $75, or more if allowed by law. At least I think that's how it was stated. . .

Thanks for the info guys. Ive been following your posts Jeff, lots of good info. Too bad im not on the east coast or I would definitely be stopping by your dealership.

Ive only bought from a dealership before, so Im not too sure how to go about ordering direct from the factory and when this would be available for the 2011. I would most likely be looking at stock 2011 V6 Premium, but it would be nice to add a few things. Have the trims and packages for 2011 been officially announced yet?

I also signed up for the X-plan and was checking out the website. So far it only has options for choosing a 2010 Mustang. Any idea when they would be adding 2011 and if dealers will be accepting the xplan on new Mustangs?

I take that back. A few years ago, under the stipulations, they had let that rule go. I just looked at it for this year and its there. Up to $75 Doc fee. Sorry about the confusion. I'm man enough to admit I was wrong.
