Not to sound mean but this is sorta common knowledge. The factory system is very restrictive. Most people are still experimenting just trying to find the right sound for them. The new 5.0 sounds very different then the previous 4.6 2V/3V/4V of the past. People are still getting used to the new sound. That is all.

If you have additional info on this topic then by all means add it! But keep your ignorant ( trying to start a pointless argument attitude) to yourself. Thx!
Whoa!!!

You come on here and have only a few posts and put up a thread full of known info and come off sounding like your opinion of everyone on here is that they are a bunch of know nothings. Then when you get called on it you want to be PO'd about it?

Talk about ignorant comments...

If you want a deeper, better sounding better performing exhaust setup you HAVE to at least get a cat back system! Which gives you bigger piping everywhere a x pipe (or h pipe if you want) smooth bends...no crushing and free flowing mufflers with bigger tips. And if you want to be able to feel a power difference get a set of headers and high flow cats with the cat back system.d
So then do tell us your ideal setup What parts would you choose if you were putting them in this month?

The point of me starting this thread was to infom the uninformed about how to achieve what they want from an exhaust system on the new 5.0 since I own one and am trying to do the same thing! My ideal setup is obviously going to be different then yours so I didn't do that.....if you already knew the stuff in my original post or you don't own a 2011 mustang gt then why comment?? Maybe I will just stick to reading instead of posting! Cause I can already see that people like to take over posts with arguments.....:-(

Yes I do not own an '11 GT, and it is true thwt I likely never ill. I do however have a '12 GT on order that should be delivered likely in March. Seeing as how the engine and exhaust systems are likely the same, I do not see why it would be innappropriate for me to be doing a little research on which system to get. I do think though that some specifics would be helpful. The info that you gave is useful, but I think a discussion about the specifics and for your reasons behind your individual preferences in a system choice would be more useful. I always like good attempts to help, even ones that others get mad at, but if someone does not know about the facts mentioned above, they might also not which specific types of headers and exhaust systems let the exhaust flow more freely than others thus rendering the advice still useful, but slightly less so.
