2011 mustang GT with Brembo /GT500 pads

Not sure if this was mentioned on here but I figured if it can help anyone out ...WHY NOT.
I called the Auto parts and asked about front pads for my 2011 GT, all three gave me a price but not even one of them asked if I had the brembo brakes. I found this strange So I called the dealer and he gave me a part number 7R3Z2001 and he said regular GT brakes will not fit. He said if I go to the auto parts place I can order GT500, Shelby or Shelby cobra pads. Autozone store found a set for the 2006 GT500 part number DGC1001 Duralast gold ceramic. Just installed them and easy as pie. Dealer wanted $66.53 for ceramic and $221.67 for the better brand I guess. Autozone was $50.

Not a bad deal for street pads, hope they hold up well for you!

BTW - West Palm is great, I travel there for work quite a bit... Nice place to have a Mustang 5.0!

Also, if you ever want a set of Pagid or Carbotech pads, I have a friend who is a dealer... Pagid makes some phenomenal pads and if you ever get to a track, I highly recommend them. Tell him you got referred by me and you'll get good pricing. His site is trackdaysolutions.com

I'm really concerned that you bought pads for a car that didn't exist in 2006.

Danielle I too was concerned!!! I didn't notice until I looked at the reciept and see 2006 mustang on it. I QUICKLY ran back to Autozone. The guy there called Ford while I was there and got the part # and cross referenced it. Ford's PArts Dept said SHELBY, GT500 or COBRA pads will fit. MY beef was autozone was tring to sell my regular GT pads and he was saying the computer don't lie. If you needed special brakes the computer would of told me. First set of breaks he gave me were long and slim WOULD NOT OF FITTED!! Brembo brakes are SQUARE.

Its been mentioned before, the 2011+ Brembo/Track Pack brakes use the 07-12 GT500 pads. I bought a set of Hawk HPS pads via topbrakes.com for around $100. They won't dust like the stock pads either.
