2011 GT vs 2010 GT500?
So I have a 2011 candy red convertible on order (6 weeks and no VIN).
Now I am starting to think about a 2010 GT500 instead. I figured out that, at the right price, the difference in cost with tax (8.625% here in NY) is about $15,000, which, while high, will not break me. OTOH, I can have the 2010 as soon as I can go get it from where ever it is.
Is it worth the difference? I don't track or strip the car, and very lightly mod, if at all.
Opinions?

Anyways, like alot of responses here, I say go for it, having a GT500 is a great experience if only for having had the chance to own a special Mustang.

I really doubt reliability with a GT500 will be an issue (as an example, Ford will back the 2010 car with up to 660hp, compared to the same year GT which they only back with up to 400hp)
A GT500 isn't simply a tarted up GT with blown 4v 5.4 and a six speed trans. It recieves several upgrades compared to its lesser kin.

If I had the choice between a 2010 GT500 Vert and a 2011 GT Vert I'd take the 2011 GT Vert. The 2010 GT500 Vert is no more then a 07-09 GT500 Vert with upgraded interior and exterior parts. In 2011 the GT500 Coupe and Vert are equals.

if you are already spending the money on a new car and can afford the shelby... do the shelby.

I'm in a similar position as you are.. Buy a 2011 Gt now or save for another year and drop 30k on a 2011 GT500 of my choice.. I decided on the GT500. For me I would need to pour money into the exterior of the GT to make it look how I would like whereas the Shelby to me is perfect as is.. I would also want more power out of the GT and need to spend money to get it where I would be happy... The shelby not so much, maybe an intake and pulley. So in the end for me spending another 5-6k to get the GT where I would be happy isn't worth it while I can spend another 10 k on the Shelby and be happy off the showroom floor...
In the end do what you feel will make you happy.
