I saw it in GA an hour ago. A Race Red vert GT, just what I'm getting.....that should have been here yesterday but wasn't.

I'm pretty sure it was manual, but it sure sounded like an automatic when it shifted. I was amazed at the speed, but the ET seemed about right.

My local PBS station, WEAO from Akron, OH, airs Motorweek at 7:30 AM on Saturdays. Unfortunately, I missed this morning's episode.

http://www.mpt.org/motorweek/carriage2010.pdf

Dish Network Speed TV (chan 150) air times are Fridays at 4:00 AM & 8:30 AM and Saturdays at 7:00 AM but the episodes appear to be a week behind compared to the PBS listings.

Dish Network also lists V-ME (chan 9414) on Saturdays at 3:30 PM but I am not sure if these are current episodes since the search function on my DVR listed the original air time as 10/3/1992. WTF? Anyway, I have the DVR set for 3:30 this afternoon.

So, were they using the track's timers to get those numbers? Don't know where that 116 MPH came from? A blowing leaf hitting the MPH lights??

Nice show. Pretty fast for a vert without the 3.73 gears. I built a G.T. Vert on the Ford Build site today, just messing around. For some reason it only offered me 3.31 rear gears as the only choice. The Ford build site must be messed up?

We'll see what's what when the show comes on.
Does the auto have a 3.15 gear? I was looking at the online window sticker for a vert auto that a dealer just got and it shows a 3.15. I haven't paid much attention, so that sounded rather odd.

This is strange. 3.15 ratio for the vert automatic and 3.31 for the manual. Didn't see anyother rear gear options for the G.T. Verts. I thought a 3.55 rear gear ratio was offered as an option, but its not listed on the Ford build site for some reason.

All automatic cars get 3.15's only, whether vert or coupe, manual tranny verts are all 3.31.

The 3:15 gear probably explains the trap speed.

BTW, that V-ME satellite channel is in Espanola. The episode that aired yesterday included a road test of the F150 Raptor. All I could understand was "muy grande". Lol.

This episode airs at 11:30 am CST for all of those in the San Antonio/South Texas area. It's on KLRN (high def ch 108 for Time Warner customers)

I woke up yesterday morning, and I put on the TV, only to find MotorWeek on PBS. So as I'm watching the episode, I begin to think about the new 2011 5.0 GT....then WHAM! There it is on Motorweek! The new 2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L!

Great review! It was very cool!

Just watched it here.

Definitely a strange trap speed for the E.T., and in a heavier convertible to boot.

50 MPH tailwind maybe???

Too bad they didn't test the V6 on the same show, probably saving that for another episode.

It was definately a manual. The guy shifting did a great job and you could tell by the rear end shots. No way an automatic shifted that hard.
