2011 GT Bassani Race Axle Back and Lethal O/R X Pipe

Here's a quick clip of my exhaust. It's just a start up and rev video.

I'll have to get a flyby video soon.

I installed my GT500 rear valance this morning, so this is the first shot showing it off as well as the GT500 spoiler.

This reaffirms my belief that Bassani makes the smoothest sounding, least raspy, exhaust for the 5.0 engine.

Hard to say.

Nothing from the axle back, but I did a tune, intake, and x pipe at the same time.

It's a performance increase for sure, but not to big. I wouldn't be surprised to see less than 10 hp from the x pipe.

man, running an off road X pipe in california is tough when smog time comes around. I think i will still do it since it will be years before the smog is needed.

Sounds awesome. Tough choice on the color for myself. It was either Kona Blue or Black. Went with Black. However, as far as exhaust goes. It is not a tough choice. Bassani has the best natural V8 sound. All others fall by the wayside. Good choice on everything. Good luck.

That sounds great, probably my favorite 5.0 exhaust yet. Can't wait for the flyby vid. The GT500 parts look great too!

What is difference between an off road x pipe and regular x pipe?

if I understand it correctly --

"off road" X-pipe is not street legal, because it does not have catalytic converters ; "regular" x-pipe would keep the cats

It's literally 10 bolts. Anyone can do this on jackstands in their garage. Swapping this out for the stock mid pipe is convenient to me a's the other option would be Long tubes.

I had a similar color debate! Was between white, race red, or another black one. Then I saw a pic of Kona Blue from somewhere here at TMS, and bought mine 35 minutes later!

Yes. There is a drone between 1900-2100 RPMs. It's not a big deal for me because I have 3.73's and I don't cruise in this range.

Thanks a lot! I'll get a better video next weekend if I can. I'll post it here.

im guessing the x-pipe is easier on the 5.0's because its a b*tch on my gen mustang. shops charge $80+ to install them.

Just when I was thinking about going with the Borla-S axleback and O/R xpipe...you go and post this.

That's an interesting observation. Having listened to a bunch of different exhausts, I've always thought that Magnaflow and Bassani had the two deepest sounds at idle. If anything, Magnaflow might even be a little deeper than Bassani. At WOT, they sound very different. The Magnaflow sounds a lot raspier, where the Bassani maintains a smoother sound, as you noted. I'm planning to go with the full Bassani setup (headers + x-pipe + catback exhaust) once my 2012 GT vert gets here.
