Yeah, me too. I just received my 2010 Dark Chrome pony, too, and haven't had a chance to gauge how difficult or easy this swap will be...

I really like the Black pony as well.
Will really make the darker looking rides look even darker!
I'm very interested in swapping the 11 pony for the 10 as well, and $30 is not too bad either.
If the swap is easy, I'll go for it.

I installed mine today and it wasn't as easy as i would have expected. There are 8 little pop up tabs that hold a plastic cover in place in the engine bay. That part is easy to remove. The hard part is removing the old one and installing the new without breaking the posts on the emblem. I ended up breaking the old emblem post off for easy removal seing how i didnt want the chrome pony anyways. There are 4 posts on the emblem with a metal lockwasher on the back that hold it in place. Putting the lock washer back on was probably the most difficult part. I found it easier to get a socket the same diameter of the washer to help push it in place. Once installed i think it looks fantastic, especially on sterling grey. I hope this helps.

Aside from slab sides (and ever taller wheels to compensate), thing that marks the 2000s+ in auto design is "branding" (all cars in a company's line up sharing styling cues) and big blingy brand emblems on the noses of cars.
The Mustang galloping horse on the 2011 Mustang isn't unusually offensive but I love the idea of getting rid of one irritating piece of bling...which isn't my style.
****... I never thought I would own a car with 19" wheels!!

I liked the black chrome pony on my '10 GB GT so much that it was the first thing I worked on on the car. It came off as fast as I could get it off. A bright chrome pony took its place.
