2011 Ford Mustang - First Ride
There are plenty of CHP and NHP officers who drove the police package Fox bodies that will refute that. They proved to be a **** handful to drive at speeds above 120-125 mph, quite unlike the package Camaros of the day. Most of the problem centered around aerodynamics - the Mustangs would lift at high speeds while the Camaros would squat.

When I rented a 2010, and did the same thing on the same stretch of hwy, it was completely undramatic.

I'll second that. I decided to see what my Fox would do on the Sea to Sky Hwy and I'm not gonna lie, I think I peed myself a bit when I hit 120. It was not what I would call "stable". Especially when the realization hit that the stock brakes were going to have to stop me!

So you're fine with a computer dictating your A/F mixture, ABS system, steering, throttle, traction, stability, but NOT the top speed?
I thought it was a pretty good article, no driving impressions which is too bad. Worth it for this line alone though:
"get a rear wing that should function as the perfect perch for your case of Natural Light at the next Nickelback concert tailgate"
Any way to order a GT/CS with stripe/spoiler delete? I love most of it except for those.

I can do 100 all day long and it feels like 70. Its good up till 120 and then its getting a bit floaty, but acceptable. 130 was uncomfortable although the engine was eager for more. Needs firmer suspension than the stock Bullitt. And the Bullitt is firmer than the 05-09 GT's. Now this was on a two lane so maybe a nice smooth freeway would be a bit different.
One Bullitt owner slapped on his helmet and went to 150 (said the engine was still pullin' hard and climbing). Personally I wouldn't want to try that with stock suspension and no way to 'release' the wind trapped in the engine bay.

I got pulled over for speeding once when I was punk teenager and the cop goes to me "Do you know how fast you were going?!" and then before I even had a chance to answer he goes "and do you know how terrible the brakes are on these cars?!" Then he proceeded to tell me about his old 82 GT, gave me a warning, and suggested I take it to the track next time I wanted to drive that fast! It was so cool and to this day I do my speeding on the track.

) and the F/R weight distribution is horrible too. I have a "notch" and can sense most of the weight on the front and how light and "lively" the back end is during spirited driving.

Probably worse. I owned two '79s and both would lock up the right rear wheel during only moderate braking and caused me to do a full 360 once during hard braking in the rain. The dealer said "they all do that"...
