On week 1 of loving my 5.0 Convertible. This car is beyond amazing and I cannot say enough awesome things about it.

I'm a little on the OCD side when it comes to taking care of it - so much that I should seriously buy stock in Meguiar's.

That said, I've never had a cloth convertible before and I want to make sure I am doing the right things to clean/maintain it to last and look amazing.

On a quick search of this forum, couldn't find any info and the google pointed me to a bunch of companies out there offering "convertible care kits." Are these just gimmicks? What is everyone else with cloth 'verts using? What do you recommend?

The black top on my 2001 Corvette was easy to keep clean. Basically a little bit of soap and water when dirty and let it dry completely before putting it down. If it ever got dusty between cleanings, just used a damp sponge to wipe it down. Don't put anything else on it. When I sold the car last December, the guy asked me it had a new top it was so perfect.

This stuff is what I'd recommend. Works very well and holds up.

 

For lint/dust/etc. use a lint roller.
For stuck on stuff use warm water and a soft brush.
When it's finally clean protect it with
RaggTopp

That's actually the one I've been considering. Think I'll give it a go after trying the good ole' fashioned soap and water.
