Question 2011 Brembo Wheel Options???

Is it me, but the new 19" wheels are kind of ugly for the 2011 Mustang 5.0 with Brembo Brake Package??

My question is:

I looked at the 2011 Brochure and the very last page has Accessories, and on that page is listed four wheels, including a 20 inch Chrome Wheel with a 1 next to it. It's nice, and I prefer Chrome over a dull, dark grey wheel with my Race Red Mustang. I know I'm not the only one who desires a different wheel for my Brembo Brakes. I love the car- not the wheel which comes with it. It looks ok on Black, and and Silver, but is ugly on Grabber blue, Red, White, etc- well, not to offend, but it's just not something I strongly desire. If I have to live with it, whatever, but I prefer to choose something else which fits with this brand new car, and not have an extra set of wheels sittiing in my garage, etc

Also, one page above the accessories, with the Shelby GT500 is the 19-in. x 9.5-in. Premium Painted-Aluminum
Wheels with P255/40R19 Front
and P285/35R19 Rear Tires
Standard

I wouldn't mind those wheels, either- BUT will they fit on the 2011 5.0 with Brembo Brakes- Offset, etc?

Please help and let me know your experiences, or if you have heard and ordered- I want to order mine soon.

Regards,
Mike in Central Florida

I agree. I do not like the wheel choices. I just want a chrome (or heck, just a polished aluminum) 19" 5 spoke wheel.

I'm ordering a Race Red GT and I'm probably going with the 19" nickel rims

Of course the GT500 wheels will fit, where do you think the brembo brakes come from?

The GT500 wheels will clear the brembos, but the cost of them is insane

FYI, reports are that the 20" chrome wheels will NOT fit the Brembos.

and that's why I took the brembo package off my order. Too much hassle (and money) for a wheel I hated.

It just seems insane to me that they didn't offer a couple/few different style wheels for the Brembo package...

I would like that 20" chrome wheel on the last page of the brochure!! And I don't want to get raped for wanting a chrome GT500 wheel either? by the way, what's the cost of them???? If you substitute that GT500 wheel for the GT 5.0 Brembo ugly dark aluminum, can you save ANY money??

I aint storing the original brembo wheels in my garage!

Only other option is to take them to have them redone at a chrome or polishing shop then. I'm sure this will brighten them up a bit and make me like them!! --------------------------

My sentiments exactly!

The service wheel price for the 19" GT500s are about $1200 a pop! used sets are pretty much going for $2k plus...

I think I am going to drop the brembo package and get the stock 19" painted luster nickel wheels black chromed by this company http://www.calchrome.com/service_blackchrome.php#fusion

You guys can always try the 18" GT500 rims from the 2010 vert. They aren't forged and they are a dif shade, but still nice. Much cheaper. Much better tire selection too.

19's are dumb, not a performance size. I wish mine were 17's.

Thanks a lot Stangfoeva! Awesome Link for my future Brembo Wheels... they're not staying that stock color 4sure!

I cant see myself paying out the nose for new GT500 wheels either.. $1200 each? , that's insane.. they'll be plenty of aftermarket and all sorts of choices not too long after. I was just looking for ordering alternatives, or what might work. That 20inch chrome wheel in the accessories page of the 2011 brochure seemed like it was an option for the 2011 GT Mustang. I wasn't sure though...

those 20" should be able to ordered and installed at the dealer since they are an accessory wheel.

As far as that company, I've never used them before but their site showed a lot of their work and it looks good. They seem reputable, they even did Jay Leno's Z06

I really think I would buy a 2011 V6 mustang if I could get the brembo pack and a whipple for the v6. I would also enjoy the other gt only options.

Didn't someone else report that the 37lbs was with packaging and the wheels by themselves weighed more like 28lbs?

I thought about this... a lot. But I really want those 255's vs. the 245's. Love the wide rubber.

I am taking off the 255 and putting on 275 Goodyear F1-D3's on the RTR wheels I posted above
