Very cool...hopefully they will find out that reputable forums are a great way to hear the Voice of the Customer...

Thats beyond impressive that someone read this thread and dispatched parts. Very cool. I'm confident they'll get to the bottom of this one. Keep us up to date on progress.

Not really. It was probably just a Ford engineer searching Google for a fix.

(Kidding... mostly.)

Here is the list of whats being replaced:

1. Pedal Box Springs
2. Pressure Plate
3. Clutch Disc
4. Slave Cylinder
5. Flywheel (Optional - If any hot spots replace)

Essentially everything in the clutch system. I think this is so they can get a look at all the parts.

I wish! The Engineer called me this morning and asked which dealership I wanted to have it done at. Ford Engineering has been on the phone with the dealer all afternoon.
So the parts should be on the way this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Im planning to put it in next monday or tuesday for two days or so most likely.
Im really impressed that rather than take a chance Ford is replacing everything. From what Im told they suspect something very simple.
I think they may want to set-up and bench test my entire system to confirm their suspicions.

I think I better keep the exact issue under my hat until Im fairly certain that is the issue. I dont want to spread false information.

Hmm.. With them announcing a hold and calling you that quickly I wonder if I should stop by my dealer and see if they have received any word on a recall.

Hum.....Hold on 5.0.s, clutch issues with Ford engineer directly involved with both owner and dealer.
That has me concerned a bit, i'd rather them take the time to fix whatever has to be fixed and then ship 'em out. I'll be bringing mine back from the U.S to Canada and would like to make sure i don't have to deal with a recall once it gets here, even though Ford of Canada assured me that they would honor the warranty or any reacalls to that effect.

It sure is. Ford is really trying hard to make sure no big issues arise from this new car. Well done FORD. The Camaro guys are not getting any help with their clutch issue.

I am also beyond impressed with this. This is what sells cars and trucks. I wont darken the door but a Ford dealership these days the way they have improved. My first thought was the Camaros are having all sorts of trouble also and GM have just let them hang out to dry. They had tons and I mean tons of problems with quality control when they launched. Nothing is perfect but Ford seems to want to stay after things.

Your clutch issue sounds alot like what plagued GM 6-speeds for a while (My GTO does exactly the same thing just too lazy to get to it) which resulted in the "Drill mod" something about the resctictor in the line that needed to be drilled out. Does the clutch hit the floor if you try to slip it a little bit too?

It only affects the clutch once its fully disengaged at high rpm.

Right now the hydraulics are not considered the primary suspect.

One of the parts coming for my car is not production as I understand it. I was not told where the part came from. However this could be a production piece from another Mustang or could have been on the cars prior to the final production piece. This part should be replaced and tested before the installation of the other parts.
