2010 photoshop thread
Great work BurningMan.
I like the routed groves between the lights too.
But I still love the 2010 the way Ford Designed it better though. It looks more modern.

Now, I like the 2010 rearend, even if it is the least convincing aspect of the restyle. However, Doug, that is flippin' STUNNING. The best 'chop yet on the rear end. What's more, the changes looks like they could be adopted without having to re-engineer the rear quater panels, just a new rear bumper required.

The 2010 rear is an example of that 'modern design' gone completely and horribly wrong. Kinda like a Pontiac Aztec and a Chevy Avalanche bumping into each other. I've been a Mustang owners and lover longer than I care to mention, and this is by far the ugliest.

How can you, with a clear conscience put the 2010 Mustang in the same category as this?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but HELL NO! You need your Mustang License Revoked!
^^^ because it seems Ford bought the leftover (black) plastic lower body cladding from those 2 vehicles and wanted to use them on the 2010+ Mustang.
granted, Ford took "baby steps" in comparison, but still something that should not have been done IMHO. all that black plastic also brings an unpleasant association w/riced-out cars sporting primered/unpainted ground effects kits...

I can see why... Heavy chunky SUV cladding and demonic disfigured jagged bends and shapes in certain places...

this may be getting a bit nit picky but the more i look at it the less i like the antenna on the new car too.
Why on earth does it have that super thick cone shaped bottom? Now I'll freely admit I know jack squat about radio technology but man it almost looks like one of those tiny rubber antennas they used to put on police cruisers.
They should have left it on the front fender, found a thinner one, or used a window mounted one like the chally does.
and thank you for the kind words guys it's appreciated.
You probably could do a conversion of thier rear to mine but I'm sure a little metal cutting would be involved but my guess is mostly behind the tailight fixtures. And you would definitely need a new trunk lid. But in my mind it would be well worth it.

it's probably been designed that way to prevent it from bending too much in the wind and then having it permanently bent backward after a few years like the retrofitted flexible black universal shorty replacement antenna i see on quite a few cars where i live (hope you know what i'm talking about ???)

They are so bad I can't eveen find a decent pic of one on line
that change to the rear helps but it's more the sculpting horror show of the back that no paint in the world will fix that bugs me

Put the **** antenna in the GLASS
Put the **** antenna in the GLASS, I'll pay what it costs! IT IS 2008! Car companies, have been putting antennas in the windshields and back glass since the 70's for crying out loud!
yeah those are the kind I'm talking about...they are always bent backwards..horrid little things

It's amazing how they get the production taillamps to look like the red plastic snap-in ones that come in a model car kit.
Whenever I did model car kits in the past I always had to paint the backsides of lenses to make them look realistic.

The Mustang narrowly escaped looking like these styling prototypes. Jay Mays wanted the rear to look this way until he was convinced to try the more classic look. It's a shame the U-shaped back window didn't make it because it had to share decklids with the convertible.

Here is the development that lead to the 2005 design:
