2010 Mustang engine mule spied
Interesting...we have been hearing 400 hp/360 TQ for the 5.0L so 400 TQ is new info, not sure I believe it but would be great if those were the real numbers...still don't think a 400 hp 5.0L will be standard in the GT, only in an SE model but I've been wrong before

Hmmmmm. A V6-grilled Mustang with dual exhausts sporting narrow little tires mounted on spray-can-painted black wheels to handle 400/400...Yep, that's gotta be the new Hurricane/Boss/Eco-Boost/Coyote 5.0 V8 under that hood!
What? You're not convinced it's powered by the Hurricane/Boss/Eco-Boost/Coyote/Whatever? Check out the black electrical tape between the taillights! What more proof does anyone need? Camo like that wouldn't be wasted on anything less...

Ahhh, black electrical tape, the obvious sign of a turbo motor, how'd I miss that?
As for whatever body (V6/GT) they decided to plop the test motor into is probably more a matter of what was sitting nearby in the development center parking lot than anything else. I imagine the cooling characteristics of the V6 and GT front ends are actually pretty comparable. The only obvious giveaway for an ecoboost might be the presence of intercooler(s) in the front, presuming their located in an area that is visible.

I am definitely reading too much into this photo. But... after overexposing the heck out of it in iPhoto, doesn't it look like the exhaust pipes run under the rear axle??
Doubtful, and more then likely an optical illusion, but doesn't it look like it?

What would that mean if they went UNDER the axle as compared to OVER the axle? I never knew there was a difference?!
Oh. Duh. That makes total sense. Thank you.
Gentlemen: There could be anything in the engine compartments of these Mustangs--note there are no pics with their hoods up. I believe I've seen pics of the red 'Stang last year in some spyshot blog somewhere--those nasty wheels are hard to forget, unfortunately. IIRC, the red one was snapped in a parking lot with snow in the background...
I think someone foxed someone else into accepting these pics as legitimate--the ludicrous part is that the "someone else" was fished into believing there's a hurricanebossecoboostcoyote 5.0 under that hood! Even if there is, NOTHING in these photos confirms that--in fact, the puny tailpipes aft of the ugly mufflers indicate that there may only be a 4.0 V6 propelling this puppy. The electrical tape over the rear emblem is probably to disguise that it isn't even the GT's faux gas cap (which further implies that it's the 4.0 V6).
I wonder if the dudes hawking these photos actually got paid for them--or was the smirking satisfaction of pwning those who put these pics on a website satisfaction enough? The guilty parties are probably finding out just how truly difficult it is to re-attach asses after you've laughed them off...God I hope Sofia Vergara wasn't one of the guilty!
I think I'll tool down to the loading dock and snap some pics of 18-wheelers and hawk them as truckloads of Coyote 5.0s being delivered to Ford's Powertrain Division to have their twin turbos installed....Are such spyshots good for $500 each you think? If I'm lucky enough to snap a shot or two of a crate on the dock big enough to hold a complete engine I'll up that to $550 each...
