2010 Grabber blue video.
Very true!

Maybe I'm coming down with something?
Good comments all! Total agreement with both the sophisticated buyer and the modern youth ricer appeal statements. Heritage yes. But I hated that Easter Bunny blue color, back when they had it on the GT-40s! But at least they were very easy to spot out there during the road course races!
Watched the newly released offical 2010 Mustang video by Ford today, when I got back home from the shop! A much better looking Stang in the candy red w/spoiler! There is some hope after that!! Cannot wait to see it 3D at the new car shows!!
IMHO: Sure that we will all in time, welcome this new 2010 into the pony herd. Just as we have done with almost every single other version of Ford's great Mustangs!

That's pure 60's vintage race car (Gulf Oil Livery color). So we still disagree.
We just looked at both the 2010 U-Tube video and the "GB" autoblog pictures. Sorry just not feeling it yet Gang!
Hope that it somehow grows on me a bit? Back when we saw the very first S197 prototype coupe on display, I totally fell in love!! and had to have one!! This one, not so much. Kind of looks like a dolled up "Future World" version of a Mustang GT. Too fancy-fided and almost a little ricy looking to me, in it's popsicle blue paint and euro-blue stitched interior. Have to wait for the touchy-visual exam on the showroom floor to know! But am still really hoping that the young bloods will love this one! For the sake of Ford and for the great Mustang badge!! We love our own paid for GT/CS even more now! With the very traditional Mustang pony car heritage look. And also because they are now not going to make CS's anymore!
CalStang.. P.S. Here comes the flames!

I agree completely. As hard as I'm trying to like the 2010, I just can't get past the horrid rear end. The taillights were a big mistake, but the black diaper on the rear was the biggest mistake. I still like it because it's a Mustang, but as far as the S197 goes, the '05-'09 will always be known as the "nice" one.
I have to be honest, I'm with everyone else who is not a fan of the grabber blue, but I think it will look much better with Boss stripes to tone it down and add some contrast. Photoshop! Whos got skills?!
What age demographic are you referring to when you say kids?

That's an interesting perspective. I never thought of that. I think there were a lot of baby boomers that find the '05 - '09 bodystyle appealing because it reminded them so much of the '69 Mustang. I'm not a baby boomer (but my mother is), but rather Generation X. But the appeal to me is still the same for the '05 - '09 because I've always loved the '69 Mustang as my favorite bodystyle of all time. So maybe that's why the 2010 doesn't appeal to me nearly as much as the '05 - '09. It just looks like they made it too European or even Japanese flavored. I much prefer the clean and strong lines of the '05 - '09, especially considering that they were such a strong tribute to the '69 bodystyle that I like so much...
You are right on the money. I have been saying the same thing since the spy shots came out along with Eights. They made this car to appeal to a broader audience and you can not blame Ford with the troubles they are having. I know many guys who love this car who would not be dead driving a Mustang/American car.
Kids just coming out of high school. They need to capture that customer base. Most of them like the Fast and the Furious type of car. I'm 50, and my kids (who were mid to late teens at the time I bought my 05GT) liked the car, but never thought it was cool like those ricer cars.
Of course there are exceptions, but Ford can't make huge profits from a few exceptions.
Note the "Drifting" they had the car do on the Speed Channel- that's to show the younger crowd that this is a car for them.

(not mine - it's from the Photoshop thread)

I was worried because I was agreeing with you.
