Looks like the tail lights will be pretty darn close to the same except for the reverse lights seperating the red ones....looks like the same shape.

Nice detail on lower valence... Little winglets!

Smaller dual tips than seen on recent red coupe!

Looks as if the rear quarters will have more of a bulge than current design.
Meaning less wheel surround flaring/crease and more subtle blending top to bottom.

The rear appears to no longer have the indent between the tail lights - it looks flush.

Cheers

Topnotch that would help to excenuate the hip like on the old cars. The old boss 69-70 cars had the flair just with the whole quarter melded like you showed. I think it will look tough, but I am still hating the tailights. I do however think the tail lights wouldn't change until the 2012. I am wondering if they are going to concentrate on an interior upgrade more on this refresh since the cars launch was a whole new chassis and got a lot of the attention. Most of the current interior is straight out of the 01 t-bird.

Oh, and the rear lights are going to make converting to Euro standards a lot easier, buy the look of it. My car (in the UK), has kept the stock lights, but I've had to convert the reversing light to become my turn signal. That mean I have no reversing light at all, although they are not a legal requirement here.

Here's a typical replacement "Euro" light.

To be honest, I love the current 3 red bar look, but I'm sure the new lights will look good once we get used to them.

So far this car does absolutely nothing for me. The fenders seem to stick out too far. To me it looks like a euro car from 10 - 15 years ago. Maybe I'll change my mind when I see the camo off. Well see.

I wish HTT was still pulling the trigger on the Mustang. I am beginning to get nervous about the 2010. There had better be some awesome engines to make up for it just in case. Maybe like a...350 HP GT. 375 HP Mach 1 and a 425 HP BOSS edition! all 5.0L

I would like to see something like this for 2010. I have always thought this was the best style Mustang from behind.

I am not impressed with any of the spy shots - interior or exterior. If anything, I am worried.

I quite agree too, the '67/'68 rear end is the best looking rear end of any Mustang.

Here's a modern interpretation. It's an early Giugiaro sketch......pity the final concept didn't look as good.

The same stylists that worked on the current design of the S197 are working on this one. Hau Thai-Tang's previous role (now Paul Randle's job) involved making the engineering aspects work. The stylists are the ones who have heavy influence on the appearance, countered by the constraints of cost and manufacturing when doing the engineering.

If you don't like the look, Doug Gaffka is probably the Ford person about whom to be worried.

PS - The camoflauge is doing its job because many continue to wonder "are we gonna like it?" when I think we will be pleasantly surprised when the covering comes off permanently.

That's good to know about the design team and yes I believe they are throwing lots of stuff around to keep us guessing. With the Challenger and Camaro hot on Mustangs heels I am sure they are inclined to play some games a bit just like they did with the 2 seater back in 62.
