2008 Mustang

I'm not saying that Ford will up the re-design to the 08 model, however one thing to consider is that if the chevy and dodge cars are as similar to what Ford has supposedly already planned for the next model, then it may be in Fords best interest to get theirs out first so that they are not the ones 'apparently' following the other two.
What a year that would possibly be then. The re-designed Mustang and the new Challenger competing and leaving the bow-tie boys to bring up the rear in 09 (if at all considering the economic problems chevy has as well as the gas concerns and the resulting effects that will have on the ecomomy in general).

You know not for nothing but everyone keeps saying that the Camaro is going into production but the design is still a concept. I find it strange that they would use a concept design to promote a car that could look very different (05 concept vs actual 05's). Them putting the car in the movie really does not prove anything because your assuming that GM is paying the movie producer to use the car when it could be the other way around. Then factor in that reguardless of if they use it that does not guarantee it's release, I will give you an example in Gran Tourismo 2 for the playstation you could use the Dodge Copperhead a car that alot of people swore up and down that would be put into mass production, along with the Ford GT90, Shelby Concept both of which are put into videogames for promotion yet neither show any signs of existing in there current design. Also if it is coming it's not the V8 that needs to be discussed, see being a Mustang lover but not being able to afford the extra insurance/gas I have a V6, not everyone who buys these cars can afford the V8, remember enthusiasts of past muscle cars have alot more factoring in now then when these cars first came out in the 60's and 70's such as high cost of living, Kids, and a new Muscle car does not cost 6 to 10K anymore. The plain and simple point is that they(Dodge and GM) need a strong base engine/model to sell these cars other wise they will never achieve the sales numbers that they want to. Oh well I will appreciate the benefits of the competition as it will only make my next Stang better but I still think that Camaro is ugly it looks fat and dumpy, just my opinion though.

Of course, I don't know how big their respective roles are, but that's what's floating around.
The cop car says 'To Punish and Enslave'...rather than 'To Protect and to Serve'. I thought that was pretty funny.
Here is a link to the pics...also shows what may be the original 'bumblebee', a 70's Camaro:

GM has rights to the movie or something.... therefore of COURSE they can take it out on the Mustang.
Don't worry... I'm sure the Decepticon Mustangs last words will be:
"I'll die now, but they'll keep building me... your car will go on hiatus or get cancelled"

OMG!! The only way I can see Ford even getting close is to bring back the 428 CJ Modular Motor with Alternate fire technology.. Meaning, it will run as a 4 cylinder engine when in cruise mode.. Then when you step on it, all 428 cubic inches will come to life and put a serious smackdown on anything streetable..
I'm talking about an 11.9 sec Mustang bone stock from the factory N/A!!
Ford will never give us this car.. LOL!! I can always dream though.. Can you guys imagine Ford re-designing the Mustang with hips and dropping in a Modular 428 CJ!! LOL!!
I must still be sleeping.. LOL!!
Look at this car man!! You cant tell me you wouldnt consider tradin in your Stang for this!

Ford needs to do something totally astonishing in the next few years, or there will be thousands of used 4.6L GT's for sell..
They need to make some big block mod motors which can be run as 4 cylinders in economy mode, and 8 cylinders in normal mode.. Something which boast over 500FT Lbs of TQ.. Also make 9in rear ends standard..
All aluminum block and completely forged internals.. The car should weigh no more than 3300 lbs with a full tank of gas..

I still like my post from a while ago; bring back the Mach 1s with various flavors of motors and use the current motor as the base, then move to a street legal 5.0 with a 6 speed ( something like the orange saleen special that produces 375 HP ), and then have your 5.4 with a 450 HP punch.
Supercharging has always been a mixed reservation for me; I prefer naturally asperated motors. I owned a S/C mustang before and it gave me warranty issues, but getting a S/C from the factory ( OEM ) is good since it is a covered part.
as for the challenger ... i like it, and even the camaro; it feels good to have muscle car fever back.
all we can do is hurry up and wait

All that stuff sounds great, but you'd never be able to keep the cost the same as it is now.

good article at todays autoweek:
(mustang part)
"Ford Mustang; Lincoln, Mercury coupes
The Ford Mustang will be restyled for the 2010 model year, one year later than previously planned.
The Mustang is likely to get a bigger engine developed under the Hurricane program. The main Hurricane engine is expected to have a 6.2-liter displacement, but a 5.8-liter is also possible. Ford could revive the Boss name to brand the engines.
Ford has pledged to keep the Mustang nameplate fresh by doing special versions each model year. The 2007 model year marks the debut of the Shelby GT500 coupe and convertible, powered by a 500-hp, 5.4-liter V-8. Production will be limited to about 9,000 units.
Designers have worked on a Lincoln coupe based on the Mustang platform. Planners also have considered a Mercury version of the Mustang. But it is unclear whether either vehicle will make it into the product plan"

The '05 Mustang Concept was very close to the actual cars. In fact, the concept was built FROM an actual pre-production Mustang. You just have to be able to see the forest through the trees sometimes.
Also, that decepticon is a Saleen, and I haven't seen nor heard of any other Mustangs in the movie as of yet...got any pics?

Sounds like you're confusing the production prototype Mustang with the concept.
