150 Mile Review
150 Mile Review
Well, although I have had it since end of Feb, just now hit 150 miles. A few early observations.
1. Man this thing pulls and what is amazing it that is just keeps pulling...and i am not really getting on it yet. The GT500's sound great, makes you want to stay in each gear a little longer..which might explain number 4 below.
2. It might just be me or a normal variance, but the shifter seems a little smoother than the one in my 12. The clutch engages smoother and the shifter doesn't seem as notchy. Goes into each gear easier.
3. It isn't quite as balanced handling wise as my 12 V6 which makes sense since it has more weight in the nose. The 12 just seemed a little more balanced driving wise. You can really feel the additional weight up front with the v8.
4. MPG sucks but i knew that going in, especially since I got the 3.73 gear. Averaging 13 to 14, which includes some steady driving out in the country. I am sure that will go up as it breaks in a bit.
5. I am oh so glad I got silver....I was going nuts with the black on the 12 trying to keep it swirl and scratch free....this might not "pop" quite as much but oh it is so worth it to keep the stress level down.
6. Car feels nice and tight just like the 12...never had any rattles or anything go wrong on the 12 and hope this is the same. The squeal on start up has only happened once since early on when it did it almost every time I started it. Must not have liked cold weather.

Glad you are enjoying it! At 13mpg you must be having a lot of fun with it. I got 7.5mpg over 160 road course miles last weekend. Kind of impressed you got the mileage that low on the street!!
Nice to get the car out in the warmer weather. Need to put a few more miles on!!

Jeff, congrats again on your new 5.oh!
I have a 2014 GT TP, also with 3.73 and I average 17.8, and have gotten as much as 25.5 on longer trips. I have a little under 5k miles on mine right now, and I also agree than your mileage will be much better once you brake the 1k mark.
Stay on it hard, I honestly believe it helps break the car in and helps seat the seals in the engine. The 5.0 with 3.73 pulls like a monster (specially in 2nd gear). I track mine once or twice a year, and the car is even more impressive once you know where the limits really are.
