There have been a few different threads discussing the merits of navigation. I'm likely ordering a 2012 Mustang soon and the tech package is what I'm most unsure of.

My question is can I say the name of a place (like McDonalds) and have the system route to the nearest McDonalds? I don't want to have to type/say an address and I can tell my phone to route to locations. However, I'd rather have the in car navigation as long as I'm not losing functionality vs. my phone.

You can tell it "Find a fast food restaurant" and it will display a list of matches on the screen. Then you tell it which line number or go to the next page. As I recall, you cannot directly call a Point Of Interest by name. I believe you can type in a name directly, but for voice activation you have to just give it categories. I haven't driven it all winter and don't remember for certain.
