Thinking about trading up to a '13. Auto select shift, Brembo's, Recaros. Wondering what you guys opinions are on it. Do you think its a good trade up?
Getting 26K for trade plus 1250 in rebates and paying invoice.

Sounds like a fair deal, so if you want a '13 I'd say go for it!

As someone who is forced to drive the 6AT due to medical reasons, I say go for it! If I could have gotten the Brembo pkg with an auto in '12 I'd have done it, but now that I've bought my '12 a '13 is not feasible. Then again, I believe that with the set of Steeda Ultraites and Konis I've got the BBP suspension beat, I still don't have the calipers or wheels.

So now I'll be on the lookout for a 2013 GT500 take-off set of 6-piston calipers, heh-heh, heh.....

Whats the price differance?

The brembo package is great, but you can do your suspension for less on your current car. Select shift is kinda gimmicky and I doubt you'll use it that often as it's not going to be any quicker(If you want to shift gears...get a manual...unless it's a dual clutch tranny) recaros are nice, but it's also something you can add to your current car

If you want it purely for the body changes then go for it.

I do but do not know if the leather Recaro seats are worth the extra money.

If you do a lot of long distance driving, they are worth their weight in gold. I had Recaro's in my VW Corrado SLC, and once you find the sweet spot, you will never adjust them again. And, you can drive for hours. I used to make runs to Denver and only stop twice in the 665 miles. No back problems!

I was so torn on this. The leather Recaros are $1600, but with the premium package, you're already getting leather. With the cost of the premium package at $4K, you're probably paying $1K-1.5K for leather, so it's kinda like you're paying $2.5K-$3K for Recaros, plus tax and financing if applicable.

Now, for $400 more you can get the nice leather with the accents which is a no-brainer if you're not getting Recaros (unless you're getting a CS) so you could consider the Recaros only $1200. And if you're getting the comfort group for the heated seats, that's another $700, so if that is a must if not getting Recaros, you could consider the Recaros to be only about $500 extra, except that you don't get heated seats, lumbar or electronic seat control.

I live in NE, so not having seat heaters would suck. The lack of electronic control could be a bonus if you're looking to get your ride as light as possible, but 420hp is almost 100hp more than I've ever had, so I'm not too worried about a few extra pounds.

Both seats are nice looking, but the Recaros don't come with the color accents, which I think really upgrades the look of the interior. The Recaros are better looking overall, but in my opinon, not $1,600 nicer looking and with the color accents of the Premier, I think it's a tie. The Recaros are also more comfortable, but the premium package gives you lumbar and if you're getting heated seats and electronic control, again, I think it's tie.

The tiebreakers for me at this point are the seat protection and wear. I think the Recaros will be difficult to find seat covers for and expensive to replace. I can get good seat covers for the regular seats, but I think I might even forgoe those, rock the leather as is and then, if it starts to wear in 5+ years, I'll install MRT's Predator kit, which looks even better than the Recaros IMHO, especially if you can choose the stitching color of the seats (I'm hoping they'll add this option; so far, only available on the headrests, I believe).

One other thing I'd like an answer on, though, for those that know. Is either seat better suited to someone taller/shorter? I'm 5'10" and I have to pull the seat of my '07 V6 (with regular seats & leather) up so far that my knees almost touch the dash. I actually prefer to be close up, but wouldn't mind having an extra few inches of room. Anyone know if the Recaros are more suited to a shorter or taller person or if the standard seats have changed at all from the 05-09s?

Getting it for Invoice >>> I'd get the Premium Leather. Then, if you're not completely satisfied, by the Recaro's from FORD aftermarket ... and SELL the Premiums (A whole lot of folks would kill for those) ... ya could make your payments with those $$$$'s, just sayin

I would like to believe the look and performance of car will be really special being the 50th anniversary of the mustang. Ford knows they can't screw this up. Just my hunch.

It doesn't matter what they do to it, some people are not going to like it.

If you are a retro fan more than likely you will not like the '15 Mustang. The way they are talking it will evolve into a full out sports car with Mustang cues. I think we love the Mustang, Camaro and Challenger because we all can relive the 60's muscle car era.

I'd agree with that styling wise. However the S197 already makes so many 'compromises' when it comes to retro type themes that it's time to finally see an all original design.

It may be time for another reboot, a 'new breed'.
