Windveil Blue history...
Windveil Blue Mustang owners,
I thought for sure the color Windveil Blue Metallic was a 1960s throwback color. When people would say, "that's a really nice color" I replied, "Yeah, it's an old 60s Mustang color brought back."
However, when I recently discovered that Windveil blue Metallic is a new color (never before used by Ford) I felt like an ***. But I still couldn't bring myself to fully accept that it was a new color because I swore I'd seen it on an old mustang.
I started searching through the old color options for Mustangs and now I'm convinced that Winveil Blue Metallic is pretty much a new name given to the old color "Silver Blue Metallic" from 1966, 1970, and 1971. In fact, the color "Silver Blue" was available in 1965 and in 1966 you could order your Mustang in "Silver Blue" or "Silver Blue Metallic." Even in 67, 68 and 69 when "Silver Blue Metallic" was not available, Brittany Blue and Winter Blue were a pretty close match to the color. There must be some reason it was brought back in 1970 and 1971 and I'm guessing because it was missed.
IMO, the color of our Windveil Blue Mustangs is a throwback color from the 60s that has been around for a long time.

1966 Ford Mustang Paint Color Type this on your browser, the two colours that come close are Brittany Blue Metallic and Silver Blue Mettalic for 1966.
I think mine is pretty darn close to the GT500 pic up top. There are diff shades of the windveil blue too. When I had my factory painted louvers come for my quarters, they were darker than my car, of course, I sent them back and they told me, the colors will vary depending on where the car was made. Dummy me....anyway, I'm with ya Ray!! We're bringin back the 60's!! Oh yeah, have you guys checked out the site dedicated to us? You can tell em I sent ya!
