Coming from a family with 2 2007 Mustangs and 2 Ford Lightnings...that's still too much "of the same" for me!

Glad to see you are doing your part to keep the Blue Oval alive and kicking though

I've been thinking of getting a V-6 for my wife. Very cool "collection".

Triple Threat

Wow, that's going all the way. SoooOOOoooo....by spare, do you mean that's the one that will remain stock while your '06 gets prepped for MAXIMUM MODS!?

not for a while- much more important things going on still around here...wifes going in today for a pacemaker(heart attack 3 months ago/bypass/the works...only 35 but had radiation 8 yrs ago for lymphoma that messed up her heart a bit) 4 sons(youngest now 10 months- others 9/10/12 yrs) plus weve had temp custody of a friends 9 yr old daughter since july...aint had time to do much at all, but thats ok...God willing we'll get thru it and next year will be a 'new normal' hopfully with everyone healthy again. then to get the boys interested in helping with putting the new hood/fender/bumper on my 06(tcs off in the rain= bad idea) and maybe get started on rebuilding the poor 429 (69 cop car engine- 11:1- yeee-ha!) that been collecting dust in various garages since 1984 along with the shell of my 69 fastback...the 09 will just sit in the corner- a waste of a great car, but I got my fun car, to me a pretty v8 mustang will never be cheaper or better looking than employee priced 09 gt's- so its a 'investment' for when the 06 finally dies, or if I get stressed out and keel over, a 3.1 mile 09 should fetch a decent price at auction in 10 years or so. either way, seemed logical to get it now before theyre gone.

16 years later...

16 years... a lot has changed, but the cars not so much...different dog wifes hearts still hangin in there, but barely...stage 4 ovarian cancer last summer, in april this year she was 2 days from getting a LVAD pump implanted, but was feeling ok- too good to take the 50/50 risk for her getting the VAD... so shes still not battery powered, except pacemaker, and even though heart ejection fraction is a terrible 16% shes not passing out or anything- on the contrary, out walking couple miles a day... cancers back again, suspected carcinomatosis, hoping not as thats a non treatable metastasis- will find out in 4 1/2 weeks after 2 more rounds of treatment...if its stable- whew...if not, more chemo, but hearts so weak dunno if it will take much more... this gal has been thru the wringer... the baby in older pic had his license 4 days and was driving the middle mustang in autocross, did a decent job, becoming a better driver quickly. its been a great summer the last 6 weeks, been out doing/seeing/visiting...doing what we can, while she can... just trying to make the best of each day, but its been stressful... 2nd oldest son was home from Army today and had the idea of remaking the mustang family pic, was kinda fun... cancer sucks. God willing maybe will repeat the pic in another year
