My 09 (45th edition) has a cover over the decklid decal on the logo and I have not seen one like it. Anyone have any clues to where I could find this exact one?
From the Picture it Looks Like a Standard Pony Insert. The only Time I have Seen a Factory Sticker on the Faux Gas Gap was When Ford Had the Limited Edition CALIFORNIA EDITION V6 in 06. I actually have one of Those Overlays. They Peel Right Off. I have been Doing a Lot of Work with These Faux Gas Caps. Here is a Link Below.
Now As Far as a Replacement Running Pony Sticker I had a Custom One Made and it is Enroute as we speak and After I receive it I will update the Faux Topic. I got a Handful of the Pony Style Caps I am Working with as to Restoring Them. They are a Real Challenge.
I think I understand what you are Seeing.The Badge is Actually a Reverse Painted Plastic Piece. Your Thinking your Running Pony Has a Cover Over it! Does That Sound Right? Look At the Pictures of a Removed Broken Badge. Also Look At the Emblem Completely Stripped of Paint Badge From Behind!
