Bought it in '08, buying it again now.

So ever since I got my 08 GT, I've always had mods I wanted to do to it. But car payments, a new daughter and a new house kinda took care of my extra cash. Still, I really enjoyed driving it all this time. Well now things are different and I was faced with the decision to keep it or sell it and move on. But I really like this body style! And my engine just cracked 100k, so I figure it's got lots left in it. Hence, we're buying it again!

Step 1: repair a bunch of stuff that was wrong over time. Too much "character"... So an HVAC actuator, new window felt strips, a new center console lid, new shift boot, repair paint on hood and fenders, recharge A/C, and so on. Swapped oil and trans fluids. [Completed]

Step 2: interior stuff. GT500 steering wheel, window tint, Nifty Shifters custom shift ****, Dynavin N7 Pro radio w/SiriusXM, backup camera and replacement factory speakers that were crackling, and repair of those pesky leather panels on the door cards. [Completed]

Step 3: face lift. GT/CS front bumper, Shelby black billet grill and surround, Shelby brake duct and fog light bezels, Shelby lower billet grill, PIAA Led fog lights, and Axial corner lights with LED's and resistors. Also added JLT Cold Air Intake, SCT x4 Tuner and Lito tune. [Completed with the exception of mounting fog lights]

Step 4: brakes and suspension. BMR LCA's, BMR LCA relocation brackets, BMR Adj Panhard Bar, Steeda Sport Springs, Steeda Heavy Upper Strut Mount, Steeda Front Control Arms with extended x5 ball joints, Power Stop z23 brake kit rear and z26 brake kit front. Also swapping diff cover for an SVE model and new diff fluid. [In progress]

Step 5: more exterior makeover. GT/CS rear bumper, hood scoop, 10" white stripes over top from bumper to bumper. [Upcoming]

Step 6: Future steps at this point (have all parts or have completed everything to this point). New Wheels and tires, replacement seats or leather covers for the front seats, new tail lights.

Wow, she's gotta feel like a new car after all this! More pics?

For the rear bumper, you can also use the GT500 rear bumper, they're literally the same one, just painted differently.

Haven't gotten to a picturesque spot to take some staged shots. I definitely will put up more pics in the future!

For the rear bumper, I just got the cheapest Ford OEM I could find (I think I got the front from LMR and the rear from AM), but I think it was advertised at GT/CS-GT500 on the bumper. Can't wait to get that part done. Can't install my backup camera until I have the new bumper on, fortunately the camera plugs in near the end of the wiring, so I could lay the wiring already.

The engine feels a lot better, so do the brakes, however the suspension isn't on yet (sitting in a nice collection of boxes waiting for me to get out my impact wrench...LOL). Lito really is a great tuner. Trying to decide if I want to do more with the engine in the future yet. It's just my DD, and I don't race people or autocross. I've been a little disappointed by how many people in Mustang groups (facebook) really hate on 3v motors. Oh well.

Here's a couple of in process shots. Post tint and closer detail of the front (sans fog lights).

So I needed new tires and started idly checking Facebook Marketplace and Ebay and found some brand new 19" take-offs from a 2022 Black Appearance Package, so Molly got new shoes! I'm digging the black rim look on her, but wondering if I should do the white Shelby stripes over the top with this much black accent going on. Opinions?

those wheels/tires look like they fit real well, what size are they? (I think S550 uses a little less offset than S197 which moves the wheels out a little, they fill the fenders quite nicely)

yep, you seem to be developing a blue and black theme . . .

255/40 R19. And yeah, I thought the offset was different slightly, but I swear it looks the same. The fit was pretty much perfect.

Side note Bert, do you still like your Bilsteins? I need new struts and was looking at something better than Koni Oranges, getting ready to lower 1.5 on Steeda Sport springs soon. Was also looking at Roush fronts.
