I'm color blind...a little, but I was disappointed in the TG once I saw it on the car. Looked different than the show pics.
More colors need to be offered for Mustangs. Some very nice colors for guys. I think the choices limit what you can do with the car.

I was hoping for a dark grey...near gunmetal. Similar to the BMW color.

If you guys think I'm crazy, go to a dealer and look at the new Focus Metallic grey color. There is NO tint of ANY other kind in that color. It is simply a bright shiny metallic grey! PERIOD! THAT is what we all expected this new color to be.

Am I wrong??????????????
The Focus color is called liquid grey and as I was driving in the golf cart with the salesman going to see the Tungsten again today - in bright sunlight, it's still lavender - I said "I thought it was more like that color" and pointed at a focus in liquid grey.

Interestingly enough, they're still offering sonic on the 2006 focus but not vista.

Thats odd. I debated blue to match the g/f's SB focus.

Most of these colors have a hue to them, Vista has a dark blue hue to it though it can look like purple to some people. I like it, and l like all the colors for the 05/06 stangs. I think what I have come to accecpt is that if this was a sedan then the colors would be more flat. Cars like BMW's use the same colors from their sedans for the sports cars though I find that Ford does it the opposite way. Corvettes have the same "problem" (if you want to call it that). I seen a red vette the other day and saw orange at first, saw a blue 06 vette and thought the front was purple and the rest was blue. IMO it's a sports car thing. I happen to like it, I think it gives the car some flash to it. Something that draws attention and says "hey look at me I go fast!" and it works. I never fail to see people break their necks to see a 05 Mustang go by (especially Sonic Blue ones) and no one ever says "hey look at the purple girl car" just follows it into the distance and then you see the guy(dad or married man) get into his mini van and look depressed. The thing of it is as long as it's not the color of the hue the whole time who cares? Do you really think people are going to see the car as it drives by for very long? (not the way some of us drive ) or when it's parked do you think someone who is looking at it is even thinking about what color hue is in the paint? No, they just wish they had one. Thats the fun of Sports cars they can be any color and be bad hiney. Look at old muscle cars, what is so manly about turquiose? or Metallic purple? Nothing exactly the same goes for any color it's what ever you (the owner) deem it to be, if you like it trust me no one will even question it. The prowler CAME in purple and that car was never called girly. Just pick a color, see it in person, order one and enjoy the staring.

Ok, I got colour selection figured out-

Its just like when you have kids:

It ALWAYS goes boy, girl, boy, girl. That's genetics, people.

Cars must be the same:

Blue, Red, Blue, ??

Red's next isn't it? And my stang is red.

[attachmentid=32096]

Honestly though, I woulda stuck with blue. That Sonic Blue is such an eye catcher and will have people going "man your car is an great colour" like 10 years from now. I went with red (torch), because it had leather. Personally, its a little loud, and c'mon, everybody's seen a red car. Sonic is more ambiguous I think. Perhaps that's why tungsten is proving so popular

Red for me. Ah well can't argue with car genetics.

Here is a pic of Tungsten (the metal). As you can see it has a pink hue to it. So this color is actually quite accurate.

I'm no expert on color but I have a possible theory on the hues that appear. Because of the additional amount of metal flake in the paint it reflects light that is more visable in the spectrum. Therefore, artificial light and natural light which have different spectrum properties will reflect off the paint differently as well. I would suspect, that tungsten gray actually looks like gray in artificial light at night. In contrast the TG in the bright sunlight will allow the violet light from the spectrum to be seen. Maybe someone with some paint expertise could shed some light on this. (pun intended)

Actually it probably has pink hues because TUNGSTEN (Periodic table W) has pink hues. See the link above.

Just had to comment instead of starting a new thread.

I saw one up close at the dealership the other day.

Definitely a very visible purple hue to it.
