New Tires & Wheels

Hey guys, I'm in the process of buying new tires & wheels, and I would like to hear some opinions. I have an '06 Pony Package V6, and I'm leaning towards the Black Foose Nitrous in 18x8.5 & 18x10 with BFG KDW's in 255/45 & 285/40. If by any chance anyone have this same setup, and can post some pictures I'll appreciate it. Also if anyone care to elaborate on the advantages or disadvantages of having wider wheels in the back, in terms of tire rotation and expected life vs. maybe having all 4 tires & wheels the same size (18x8.5 & 255/45).

Thanks,

Javier

Hey Javier, I'll try to dig some pics up on the Fooses on the car. But I think they are an excellent choice. I've seen a few and black on Tungsten look awesome.

Yeah I was just thinking how black wheels would look on Tungsten.
You an use tire racks site to set it up, but I would need to see in person before that commitment.

Yes, you will have slightly shorter tire life by not being able to rotate.
Rears will tend to wear down the middle, and fronts on the edges.

Opinion: With the polished lip on any wheel, you can't go wrong, but I prefer the Black Nitrous on Black cars and the Gray on Gray cars. I have a white car and have polished bullitts. As for tire rotation, you burn the rears and cup the fronts. I plan on getting two summers out of my tires period. I think I can do that with wider rears and narrower fronts just as easily as all four matching. The real drama comes into play when you hit rain. Wide rear tires + worn tread = Oh S#!%
I love the look of wider rears, but the cost of BFGoodRich tires that come on 18" from the factory is dirt cheap! I'd rather burn down a couple sets of cheap tires than have the look of wider rears. That may change once I get more tickets!

Just wondering does anyone have grey foose rims on a tungsten grey ride?

I think I can help here...I previously had the Foose Nitrous grays on the GT, but now I have the Black Raceline GT's with the chrome lip and chrome tri-bar spinners...let me see if I can find some pics...

okay...here are a couple of shots of the nitrous', however, in these pics, I have not lowered the car or put on the Tokico adj. shocks/struts (so the car looks extremely goofy with 20'')...I still have to take some of my new rims.
