I'm the proud new owner of a GT
My salesman (Jeff) left a message at my parents house. Not sure why he didn't call me at work, that's what he did before. Maybe he didn't want to distract me? Anyway, my father then left a message for me at work! I was dying by the time I finally got a chance to call Jeff back. :bang:
I went out there as soon as I got home and threw some clean cloths on. He pulled it around, and I took it for a drive. WOW!! It felt so different than the first one I drove. I had a heck of a time with the clutch and shifter. It's so different than what I'm used to (POS's). I almost stalled it twice, and ground 3rd gear. The clutch starts engaging waaay too soon. It's going to take some getting used to.
Any doubt about my color choice evaporated as soon as I saw the car. It's just beautiful. And the power of that V8 is incredible. It just pulls down low soooo nice. I'm used to 4-banger sticks, and they are such a pain. Oh, and the sound!!
Just want to add also, the dealer did not put any stickers on it, and did not drill any holes in the front bumper.
I didn't even request it! Brondes in Toledo ROCKS!
Odd thing happened with the price. Jeff told me there was a price increase, so they worked a deal to get me X-plan. OK, I said. Then I brought up the AQHA discount. I would save $200 more with that, instead of X-plan. He talked to his boss for quite a while, then came back and said, "OK, we can do it." Then he says how the manager is so mad that the car was sold to me so cheap!! They are selling them over MSRP now.
Jeff also said he was loosing commission by doing the AQHA discount instead of X-plan? It was like he was tring to make me feel guilty or something. O well.
I'm letting them send it out to get undercoated, and they promised it would be a perfect job, I expect no less. I'll put it on a lift soon after. They also got me a much better financing rate that I was able to get.
Well, I could go on and on, so I will just leave you guys with a couple pics. Sorry about the lens flare on the second pic. I've been so excited, I just havn't been able to think, or even talk straight. Kind of embarrassing really. The green Taurus in the second pic is also mine.
Thanks everybody! And if anybody has any picture requests, just PM me, and I'll get to it Sat. The car goes into storage Sat night, and will stay there till possible mid May. (When I move to a nicer place to live) Wow, still talking . . .

Beautiful ride, Craig! Good luck with it and I hope you get to enjoy it soon. I'm glad someone else from my build week got their car. Mine must be getting close!
Anyway, I'm really happy for you. It sounds like you really appreciate getting this car. I'm sure that car will be spoiled rotten...as it should be!

Also, the dealer undercoating thing is a big scam - I hope you didn't pay too much for it. Again, though, who cares?
You still get
Enjoy!
Wow, that's nice. Love the bullitts
. That color is amazing too. It's not for me, but I sure can appreciate it. It's probably the best looking color IMO (and yours too... he, he.)
Congrats! Why storage until May? I used to go to BG, the salt's off the roads, right? Anyway...

Dude congrats on the your new GT. I would not allow them to spray that unnessary rust coating under my beautiful new vehicle what so ever. Your car is comes with an E-coating from the steel mill. Ripoff at any cost.
