I have to say it looks pretty good. I wouldn't really have expected for black to look that good on the sonic blue, but that proved me wrong. I actually like that side graphic too. Very nice car.

Are those vinyl? If so, where'd you get the stripes for the side? I want those.

This is the first Sonic Blue I've seen with the side graphics. The black on blue makes a more subtle statement than some of the other color combinations. Very interesting. I like it, and am anxious to see what else you will do with the car.

Painted, especially with the very soft paint on these vehicles, if you go to take off the vinyl stripes your more than likely to have paint problems!!! Well worth the $ and investment !!

Matt, not sure where you get that idea from. There should be no problem when removing vinyl from the car. You think FORD used different paint on the 05 than all of the previous years? I doubt it and I would change the colour combo on my 97 GT at least 3 times each year, no issues.
Valerie, car looks pretty good. Not sure if the lemans stripes and hockey stick stripes are too much all at once but, looks good. Keep up the good work.

BLACK on sonic blue - I love it - very original and looks great!!
(sadly, I'm not nuts about the 'hockey stick' stripe on the side of the car - not liking that - but then again it ain't my ride!! So enjoy!)

Thanks for all your replies and the feedback.
Stangnut: You are right 10" stripes with 2" gap.
Enfynet: All stripes are vinyl, got all stripes from Auto Trim Design (their prices are cheaper on Ebay than on their website). The Lemans stripes are countoured to help with installation. If you mess up a section you can order just that section, kinda nice if you are planning to install them yourself. They now have spoiler kit also.
Sadsquared2: Tinting is next. I was going to get the spoiler stripe kit, but now you got me thinking "Would the black spoiler look better?"
Adrenalin: I knew I wanted the Lemans stripes. I also wanted something on the side because when you look at the side of a car with only Lemans stripes you can't see the stripes at all. I thought it needed something, but didn't really care for the rocker panel stripes (Mustang, GT300, etc.). I thought about just a plain stripe, but when I saw those hockey stick stripes I knew they were going on there. Have a ? for you: Is it safe to use Zanio's on the vinyl stripes, the vinyl brand is Avery.
Stangarang: If you definately know what you want, then get them painted on. I wasn't 100% sure about the black on blue, so I went with vinyl. Oh yeah and I don't have enough extra cash for painted stripes and aftermarket wheels.

Thanks! I like their 302 style stripes, I could do without the 'MUSTANG' on the side stripes though.

SonicBlue05GT,
NICE RIDE!! I live in St. Peters and order the exact same color except in the Deluxe package. It's getting built on 4/25. Is there any chance we could meet up in STL sometime so I can see your stripes up close? I'd like to do the same thing, but throwing around different color options.

Black stripes on Sonic Blue have a ghosted look. At first I did not like the combination of stripes but since you can hardly see both stripes at the same time, it works. The color combination is subtle and unique. Nice ride!

How much was it for the vinyl and install? Honestly, looking at the pics I thought they were painted...looks really great. I was thinking of painting, but that would probably be too expensive at this time.
I was also thinking about getting the Bullitt wheels painted black or powder coated. I'll also be going with a ducktail, most likely the Street Scenes one. Fortunately you're in IL, so I don't have to worry about looking like a copycat
