Can anyone provide background on this color?
...I almost ordered my 05 in this color because my 66 was the same (as far as I know). I kinda like it, but didn't know if I liked it that much.

Was this color a copy of the 'avocado' appliance color made popular in the mid-sixties? What really is the legend behind the lime?!?

From: Vestavia Hills, Ala.
It's almost identical to Lime Gold from 1967.

Lime is definitely my favorite I adore it. The more you stare, the more you like it!!! BUT Hubby will not drive around in what he calls a pea soup green car. Therefore, after dissecting all the colors I gotta get silver because I in turn won't drive yellow..... (we went the merry go round on 7 of the 10 colors).

Ford should do one retro per year- limited edition or not, the unusual ones(comp orange can you hear me?) are spectacular.

...I won't be posting pictures of my 66 cause that 67 was what it aspired to be.

Perhaps a reminder of days gone past when green **** carpet was popular! My parents had a red '66 Mustang coupe. However, my dad was one of eight kids and one aunt of mine had a '68 lime gold Mustang, another aunt (still has today) a lime gold '67 or '68 Couger XR7, and yet another aunt had a '7? Green Gran Torino. I am hooked on the legend lime as it brings back good memories. I won't be ordering until at least this time next year so it may be lime gold color by the time I order... (Off to Operation Iraqi Freedom for one year).

I just ordered my GT in legend lime. When I saw it in pictures I thought it was a kind of a strange color, that was until I walked into the dealer and saw one in the showroom. I fell in love with it and ordered one the following week. I don't think you will be seeing to many of them on the roads, it is definetly different......

Yeah, I love Legend Lime too!

My sister had a Mustang back in the late sixties in the same color. I think it's cool that Ford deceided to bring back this color. B)

Brad put some more Legend Lime V6 pics on. Even if you want a GT you should look at this page. Legend Lime galore!

I have a legend lime sitting in my garage right now. It is snowing out, so I am left to getting my fix on the computer. It is a great color, that really goes well with the retro styling.

Very nice! Any Mustang looks good in Legend Lime!

A question though. Is the "Lime Gold" color for next year going to be any different from Legend Lime, this year's color?

Back in 67-70 Lime Frodt was the most popular color.
In the future I'd like to see Emberglo and or Tahoe Turquoise:

I really love that color. If they had white leather to go with it.. I'd be all over it. Very stunning in person.

Yeah, great color - different. Okay, but what is the 'legend'?

Was there somebody who raced a 67 lime stang and beat a red 327 Camaro once on a hot August night. But it was a race that ended in tragedy when a child stepped into its rain slick path. Narrowly missing the clueless kid, the car left the pavement and went off into a ..cornfield. Yeah and locals say that you can still see the car during thunderstorms on that same road.

It just sounds cool.

Just a name designers use to make it more appealing.
Would you like Lollipop Lime instead? haha j/k
