Belt tensioner

I have a 2005 LL GT Convertible. 5 spd 45k. However recently it started making a loud whiney noise when it's cold and stops as soon as it starts to get warm. At first i suspected a heat shield came loose, but noooooooooooooooo! Then i looked at the belt, it looks ok to me . But i was then advised that it's probably the belt tensioner as the noise does seem to be coming from that direction because the bearings in the pulley do have a habit of failure. Is there anything special i need to know when i try to do this job? Gotta wait til next weekend as the car won't be driven anyway. No time this weekend. Thanks.

Friend, you've posted in a part of the forum most where most folks will not see your post. Repost in the warranty/service issues section or in the main 2005-2009 section. More people will see it there.
