Cool bunch of Limers, nice to see the group increase in numbers.
Just found out my LL baby was born on 6-3, yeahhh!!! It's gonna be painful waiting for it to get to the dealership! Time to clean out the garage.

I'm a double Limer but don't have my VIN's at work.
I've done a side marker mod, tailight mod, and louver mod so far. I'm working on my rear emblem which will be a 68 red gt gas cap emblem. Should have paint on it done this weekend.
From my understanding from the painter that did my louvers, the 1968 color code for Lime Gold is the same color code as for Legend Lime. Both look identical to me. Hopefully I'll have some better shots of the 68 soon as I'm getting it painted by the end of summer (crosses fingers).

Hey Lee, your car looks great! I like the louvres. Are you going to keep them or get the 2nd gens now available? If so, you'll probably want to paint the insides to match your interior color, right?
The chrome tail light accents are sweet!
Great retro-inspired touch. How did you fasten them?

Permission Granted.
I'm going to keep these louvers until something better comes out. I don't think the Gen 2's are that much of an improvement.
I had the louvers painted all lime, however may remove them later and change the inside to charcoal. Doesn't quite look correct from inside.
The 68 GT emblems were a bit of a pain. Bought new ones, then had to cut off the two deals that were to insert into the fender. Then had to use a grinder to get them down a little more. Then had to build them back up on the edges a bit and use double sided tape like the factory '05 emblems.
I have a new 2005 rear emblem I'm modding now. I've spent the past few days blacking out the center area that had the 05 styled GT emblem. I have it blacked out now and will polish and buff it. Then I have a 1968 GT flip open gas cap emblem that will go in the center. Eventually I'd like to mod an entire 68 flip open gas cap assembly to fit, but the '68 had a very sharp concave so the mod will take a lot more effort.

Got them off ebay but they are the ones that have been shown here on the forums a lot. Generation 1, now generation 2 louvers are out by the same peeps that look a little different. I'm at work and can't recall the makers name but I got some sticker with SS on it. Like Street Scene or Street Something. But got them from Ebay.

ERL just informed me my mustang shipped via convoy carrier on 6-4, so shouldn't be too much longer. Flat Rock can't be more than 500 miles from here. None too soon either, my poor Honda blew a head gasket so I'm driving a rental now. Hopefully some thing I found on the internet called Thermagasket will fix it without running up a repair bill. I really wanted to keep it as a second vehicle. Talk about highs and lows!

My mustang history............
Lee's Mustang Timeline
and my louvers were Street Scene Generation 1's.
So far, all of the louvers out that I've seen stick out a little more than I like. These will do for now, but I'm hoping someone comes out with a full window replacement with vents like the old stangs. That may take a year or so, so these will do for now.

Cool timeline Lee! You're definitely got mustang in your blood. Having the new stang probably inspires you more to restore the old one. I'm sure your Dad's proud!
BTW, what kind of band/music do you play? Must be pretty serious for the drums to have their own trailer.

Well. For years I played in rock/alternative bands. For the last 2, my band had broken up so I've been playing in a symphony. Hard to get an xylophone in the back of a mustang. Still looking for another bar band though.

"Moving to California"? Hey, wait a minute...are you talkin' about me?
I'm going to be taking my Legend Lime GT across country, from Richmond, Virginia to Sacramento, California in early August! :drive:
I hope to be able to share a few pix of my adventure along the way. I'll snap a few here and there and upload them using my laptop. Figure I'll take Route 80 or 40 most of the way. Maybe I'll see a few TMS members in the process. Anything's possible...

Anyone going to the Mustang show in Burlington, NC on 6/11???
I am planning on, if my wife doesn't veto me, showing my car there.
If there are any other local limers in the area, drop on by.
