We are just getting this off the ground. I hope you're with us, as the response has
been somewhat overwhelming. 39 members and counting.

http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forums/show...80&postcount=34

http://www.legendlimeregistry.com will be up and running on or before June 12

I/We are trying our best, to do the "Registry" justice. It has to be thorough or the.....credibility.....of it is worthless. We will grow as it grows.

THANK YOU,
Jeff Baker LEGENDARY LIMER 0001

DestinyDE 5/15/05 07:16 PM

Let me know when its up

LL05GT 5/16/05 03:11 PM

Where are all the Legend Limers ? :dunno:

:worship: Compiling their info for the "REGISTRY"

Great, I'll be hearing from them soon. :nice:

CelticNut 5/16/05 05:12 PM

Hey Jeff, I emailed you my information this morning. The customer service lady was very helpful. She gave me the "born on" date: APRIL 15, 2005. This was kind of scary...

Not only was my car built on a Friday, it was also built on TAX DAY!

Hope "Lucky" stays together! :jester:

I was happy to join the Legend Lime Registry. I hope my fellow Lime Stangers follow suit! :nice:

Fastrack 5/16/05 05:39 PM

Just PM'd you the info! Maybe I'm the first from Canada ? :D

LimeGT 5/16/05 05:45 PM

I'm in as soon as I get my build date. 'Bout time we Limers got some representation! And in case anyone is wondering, this color was my CHOICE from the beginning and I love it! :-D

As soon as I saw it in person it was my 1st choice for color. I had a feeling it wouldn't be as popular as most of the other colors.

How many we got now Jeff?

LL05GT 5/16/05 07:36 PM

27 and counting...... 9 v6's 14 GT's 4 GT Verts

Let's get onboard people. LOTS, LOTS more to come.

Welcome CelticCub and Fastrack......#'s 0025 and 0026

Thanks Everyone,

3RD1 5/17/05 07:53 PM

There must be some more hiding somewhere in the wings.

But then again...... if it's a rare color.......... hmmmmmmmm! :nice:

2k5 legend 5/17/05 11:07 PM

And I hope it STAYS that way! :D

3RD1 5/17/05 11:21 PM

It's a catch 22 of sorts. Right now Jeff's looking for more to register. But!!!! It would be very cool to have the rarest of colors ( :worship: ) and thereby the fewer members to register....... which makes it even more important to find all you can to register.

3RD1 5/19/05 12:00 AM

It really does grow on you. Tell someone your car is Legend Lime and they get that just ate a lemon look on their face. But when they see it, it's a whole new story.

CelticNut 5/19/05 04:52 AM

A toll taker on the downtown expressway in Richmond knodded her head and said "mmm mmm, I just love the color of your car!" I think she was tired of seeing the same old colors day in, day out. Legend Lime tends to wake up your senses! It's a refreshing alternative.

To go along with my ID here and to go along with my love of the original Mustang. The P-51 Mustang has always been my favorite aircraft. :nice:
When I was a kid, actually 12-14 (1973-75) at the time, one of my dads pals worked for Cavalier at Sarasota-Bradenton airport. This company used to convert WWII surplus P-51's to two seat privately owned aircraft and I got the chance to go up on a check flight in one. After doing over 330mph  in one of those beauties, there is nothing that compares to it, I was hooked. I have never been back up in one, but I have built at least 8 different R/C models of the 51. I am actually working on a new one now. I am going to paint it LL to match my ride, but do it up as a Reno style racer rather than a military version.
So, that is why 51.

Of course! I should have known. Makes perfect sense. There's a guy in Hollister, just 30 minutes from here, who gives rides in his P51-D. Takes you over to the coast and goes into a 400mph straffing run down the beach. What a thrill.

My mom was a "Rosie-the-Riviter" during WWII. She worked on the P38 Lightning, the PBY Flying Boat........ and her pride and joy....the P51 Mustang. In 1965 when I was looking to get my first car she "INSISTED" it be a Mustang.

Very cool! There is a place up the road from me in Kissimmee, Fl, close to Orlando called Stallion 51, that gives P-51 rides, a little rich for my blood though!
They get  $2,050.00 for a half an hour and $2,850.00 for a full hour

Yeah, it's amazing how the feedback is absolutely positive about this color, ALL the time (at least that's what happens to me)...the funny thing is that I noticed it's the first comment I get, right before something like "Man, the new Mustang really looks good !"...

3RD1 5/19/05 07:48 PM

$2,850.00 / hour for a ride............. Last time I went here it was something like $480.00.

I just found out, using my vin #, that my car was # 69,820 off the line. Now if we could only find what Legend Lime # it was.

https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...ls/default.asp

Enter your VIN#. The sequence # at the end started at 100000, from what I was lead to believe. So subtract that number from your sequence # to get your actual #.

Interesting... My seqence # is 211748, so that makes it 111748, but that page also says I have a 4 litre, 6 cyl! H is my engine code. And I can tell you it's not a v6!

Check it out, not a Ford site, but gives the correct information :)

Hey Jeff, just an idea...

Have you tried doing a search for "Legend Lime" on the forum? You might find a few prospective LL registrants that don't frequent the forums as often, but would be interested in adding their names to your list. You could email them, if they provided that information.

Good luck with your compilation! :nice:

Also was looking for a few ideas or pics.
Anyone got stripes on their LL? I was thinking black ones but then saw a pic of one with silver and it looked cool. Anyone here care to share a pic or two to help me choose?

Also what size? I was thinking 10" with 1.5" separation.

I know there was a post on this topic thats huge but I was looking for some input from other LLs

Thanks

ooh i don't know. That silver looks pretty sweet. What size are yours? 10"?

Now gonna be a real tough choice. THe guy says about 100 for the stuff to do it myself, but also said about 250 for him to do it. Even though it would be a cool thing to do myself, I'm leaning to the latter. Last thing I want to do is try it myself and then end up paying him to do it anyways.

Do you have the tape stripes on the side that say Mustang? I can't tell in your pics. If you do, I think you should match those. If not, I think the silver looks better...not quite so contrasting. Have you considered white? I have the white tape stripes on the sides and I rather like the way the white looks on the LL. Just a thought. Whatever you choose, I'm sure it'll look good. Good Luck to you! :nice:

I have the black tapes on the side. If I go silver or white i will remove them.

I also like the white, but not so much with the dark interior. With the light interior I would definately go for The White Stripes.

Silver is an intriguing possibility that I never would have thought of on my own but after seeing LimeGT's pics, I am impressed. Will have to strongly consider it.

I think I am going to do black, leave the rocker stripes, get 17"black bullit wheels, and window tint. and go for the whole dark thing. I think that would look pretty mean. Someone here had tinted windows and black stripes but cant find the pics. I thought it would look cool with the black bullitt wheels.

Thanks LimeGT

Yes, they are 10" wide. I bought a 20" wide by 10yd roll of 3M vinyl from cornerstonesupplies.com for about $50. I split what I needed down the middle to make 10" stripes. They are approx 1.25" apart. The flat areas like the hood and roof were fairly easy. The front and rear bumber covers were a nightmare! :bang:

If I did it again I think I would go with 11" stripes, 1.5 - 2.0 inches apart. These cars look awesome with stripes, but this is not an easy job, good luck!

Does anyone know.........could the Bullitt rims be SUCCESSFULLY powdercoated?

Maybe a nice shade of lime............LEGEND LIME. :D

Sure they can. The only issue is that the old paint would need to be stripped off first.
I was going to have my Cobra R's powder coated at one time, if I remember correctly, it was going to be around $400 to have all 4 wheels stripped and then coated with a coating that looked like polished alluminum. Since the price was so high, I just didn't go for it. Here is a link to a co that will give you a free estimate on what you want.
There are others out there as well, just google for powder coating wheels.

Hey Everyone,

Two new members...Cheermom97 and Turbojet.

WELCOME to the "Registry". Hope to hear from you soon.

41 and counting.....14..23..4

Everyone have a SAFE and GREAT three day weekend.

LL05GT 5/28/05 08:42 PM

Oh, what fun! Just put the PONY back in the stable. Took her on a 42 mile gallop. Call me crazy............but I'm like a kid at Toys R Us. For me, it's a thrill every time I take her out on a gallop. I've had "OLIVE" since January 31, as time goes by, the thrill is still here/there. I hope it never goes away. With it being a weekly/ bi-weekly driver, I'm sure the 17 year old in me will have plenty of giggles to come.

Mrs. 0001 said something I thought was humorous, "I wouldn't want you to have to pick between me and that car, I'd probably be runner-up." :D

I'll keep her wondering.

Enough of my babble................How's your holiday weekend?

gabriel05 5/29/05 12:07 AM

Had a cool moment today that sort of relates to the topic.
I went to the Cleveland Indoans game in Cleveland. (I now live in Pittsburgh but have always been a big indians and Browns fan) On the way came up beside a late 60's model stang which was about the same color. We both looked at each other and gave thumbs up. It was pretty cool for a couple of minutes a 05 and a 60's stang (both lime) sharing the road.

CelticNut 5/29/05 07:29 AM

Having a great weekend here in Richmond. The weather is cooperating for a BBQ and the open road is calling! :nice:

I keep getting compliments on my car... even from complete strangers. Toll takers on the downtown expressway constantly give me a nod and tell me they love the color. I think a lot of people are tired of the same ole same ole. Just a theory I have...

Variety is good, and Legend Lime delivers it in spades! B)

I will eventually get around to giving you my info. I have to remember to get my vin# first.

LimeGT 6/1/05 04:44 PM

If your feelings are hurt easily, don't read this! I found a poll on another Mustang forum and it is not kind to the color of our Lime beauties. Owners were asked what color they liked the LEAST and Legend Lime won/lost by a landslide.

Personally I couldn't care less. I bought my car for ME. I love the color and get tons of compliments. Just today a guy at the toll plaza said "nice color". Not nice car, but nice color. Anyway, I 'm hoping that this color will remain unusual, even unpopular. It helps us stand out in the crowd. :-D

LL05GT 6/1/05 05:06 PM

 Looks like we WON that one, hands down. Too bad FORD didn't drop the color. :notnice:

Lime here as well. Nearly everyone likes it. I went to the "Donut Derelicts" in Huntington Beach [CA] a couple of weeks ago and though there were some outstanding cars there [a yellow Superbird and two Cobras, etc.] MANY people stopped to look at the Mustang.

I agree completely, Phil. I want to stand out. I'm bored with people that make safe choices because they want to be popular and not rock the boat. They're going to live their lives to satisfy everyone else. They may very well like the color they chose, but they've got to admit that they're dependent on positive affirmation. I'd rather make myself happy. Let them play it safe. Give me different any day. A year from now, when there are a gazillion Mustangs on the roads, OURS will still stand apart! :nice:

I was hoping they'd discontinue the color for the 2006's. That would really make ours special

To be honest, I was a little disappointed that Ford kept the color for '06. Funny, as "unpopular" as our color was on that online poll, apparently Ford thought it was a hot enough seller to retain it!

BTW, your car looks great once again, Scott. :nice:

luckyeod28 6/3/05 04:47 AM

I for one am glad Ford continued this color for 06, otherwise I would have gotten stuck with a lesser color. Believe me guys the color is rare enough, don't be so stingy with the Legend Lime. HAHAHA.

Beau

Lime-N-Dah-CocoNut 6/3/05 12:49 PM

From what I had heard, they were originally going to drop the Legend Lime color for the '06 and replace it with a more traditional Lime Gold, but for some reason that got changed.

Good point.

If Legend Lime is so unsightly, why is a picture of mine on the cover of this fake magazine? I was bored last night. :-D
