Beautiful car and background Sundeep. Southern California is a beautiful place. Some friends and me flew out there several years ago to catch a few of your Pacific waves. We landed in San Diego and basically stayed up in Encinetas (Sp.?). La Jolla is beautiful, driving our beat-up Escort rental up Hwy. 1 was a treat for us East Coasters. Went out at Imperial Beach, Encinetas, Carlesbad, Huntington Beach. Very nice place southern Cal., have to love the warmth and sun. Enjoy the car

Great pics in a beautiful location.

I never noticed the outer edges of the upper grill (where the GT fog light are placed) was blacked out entirely. Interesting.... A little odd though. Why would they do that? Aerodynamics? To hide something? No matter, still a great looking car.

The reason why the sides of the grill are completely blacked out is because the enigne get's too much airflow, cooling it too much. They design it that way to make it run more efficiently, as far as emissions go, etc. If you look at the GT grill, some of the honeycomb is filled in too..... plus the fog lights block some of the airflow too.

nope has absolutely nothing to do with emissions or the motor being "cooled" too much. Its all about the aerodynamic drag. The filled in portion is to deflect some of the airflow around the car instead of through the engine bay which creates more drag on the car by trapping the airflow under the hood.

the work around, if you wanted to open up the entire grill face is to cut air vents at the back of the hood forward of the firewall to siphon the air in the engine compartment out and over the windshield.

Still the drag co will be higher then a stock car with the grill filled in.

Thanks for all the replies, the pictures were taken at Oceanside harbor, Northern San Diego county.

The blacked out portion in the front is actually honeycomb like the rest of the grill, it's just closed off.

I need to get some pics of the interior so people can get a better look at a non-IUP dk. charcoal interior. It's not that bad. If we ever want the look, there are already a bunch of inserts availible. The only thing I might miss are the extra guages, and computer.

Still can't wait to get the engine broken in so we can see how fast the V6 manual is.... I'm thinking at least 1000 miles, so maybe by the new year..

Is it me or does the V6 look more old school due to it's not so agressive look and halibrand type wheels....BTW I love the way the tire isn't low profile with these rims, it reminds me of old muscle cars before the ultra low profile tires were the rage.

Future Mods:
Tint the windows all the way around
Intake
Exhaust
Ducktail
maybe flash the ECU if it doesn't void the warranty, otherwise that'll happen in a year or so...

Your car looks fantastic....the way a Mustang should look! Not a bunch of add-ons to clutter up the look..also looking forward to your interior pics!

Your engine is probably already broken in. To be sure, go out on the road (and once the engine is fully warmed up), stick it in 2rd and accelerate at WOT from a slow roll (1750 rpms) to ~45 mph a few times, letting the engine brake the car back down to a slow roll, then accelerate to 60 mph doing the same thing, 3 or 4 times. Done.

You might not hit 60 mph in second. Play it by ear, what you want to do is load the engine and then use compression to slow the car down.

Nice pics Sundeep, thanks!

I also think the V6 looks more retro, the styling looks better to me then the GT. B)

How does the V6 manual handle? We haven't had any reports on them since the V6 5 speed just came out.

I'm from So Cal myself, nice to see pics of the coast again. I miss it.....

Excellent choice Sundeep - just the car I'm getting from the outside, black V6 with 5 spd, no spoiler (although I will add a gold side stripe).

I'm going with the dark charcoal leather and IUP, so I won't see mine until February (build week of Jan. 24).

I'm in Sacramento but go down to San Diego once in a while - I've got cousins by Balboa Park, and have surfed at Ocean Beach - gotta love San Diego.

Thanks for posting the great pics!
