I know there have been several threads about black...but here is mine.

What a pain - It's a full time job to keep this thing clean, but so worth it. It will be dirty in about 20 minutes, but here's what a Mother's clay bar, Meguiar's NXT tech wax, Stoner window cleaner/tire dressing and 2.5 hours got me:

It sure does look gorgeous......but that's why i didn't get black (too much work). The concept wheels have really grown on me, and they sure look sweet on your car......I'm glad I got those wheels for my Satin Silver. Enjoy....and definitely spend more time driving than cleaning!

Wow, that is an aweseome job. Now put it in the garage, LOL. Problem is...you can't drive a car that's that clean.

Nice job!! I just did the same work to my black Lightning this weekend. I can't wait to get the chance to shine up my new GT.

I did my car yesterday (which of course means it's dirty today). My house faces east/west. So even using the super high tech Mr.Clean Carwash, by the time I got around to the other side, the first side had spotted. UGG...what a chore. But, as we know, once it's done it's awesome.

Donkey, great job

I'm curious as to how much dirt the clay bar picked up on your new car?

Also do you use the spray that comes with the bar or just water?

Thanks

I seen a black one at the local dealer after getting dark tinting and a waxing-it looked so good.

The clay bar picked up a ton of dirt and other things that were on the paint surface, even after washing the car twice before I used it. Would have never otherwise noticed all the stuff the clay bar found. I used the quick detailer spray that came with the bar...it worked very well. Paint is smooth as glass now. I have used a clay bar before on my old acura and had the same excellent results. I'll do it about once a year. Very easy to do, the directions are clear and easy to follow.

My car was built on 9/4 according to the id sticker in the doorjam, I guess it picked up all that garbage from sitting outside unwaxed for so long...
