The best thing about owning a black car
#4
It was actually a two day process.
Yesterday:
First I washed it with Meguiars NXT wash and dried it using microfiber towels. Next was Meguiars step 1 paint cleanser (part one in the three step system). Then I threw a few coats of NXT tech wax on it to finish it off.
Today:
I wasn't happy about the haze from the remaining wax I saw in the sun today. For some reason I'm having trouble with the NXT wax. I figured while the car was clean I might as well clay bar it also. So I wound up using the clay bar and throwing some 3M imperial hand glaze on top of that. I finished it off with the NXT Tech wax spray...for some reason the touch-up spray is easier to use and leaves less of a film than the liquid NXT wax.

It kind of worked, less remaining "haze" but still there. Black cars= :bang:
Gotta love 'em when their clean though
I think I'll try the paste next.

Yeah . . . gee I just love my Mustang when it's clean , it's the other two black cars I own that drive me nuts . . . . oh . . . . and the fact that I live on a dirt road :bang: .
All that washing gives your arms a great work out though . . . wax on, wax off grasshopper .

Not trying to ignite the whole Meguiars vs Zaino battle but from what you described, try Zaino. Easy on, Easy off. I used Meguiars(not NXT though) on my black F150 and it was great but then I used Zaino on my wifes black explorer and tossed the Meguiars in the trash. No haze and no crud left on plastic pieces either. Give it a try!

Yeah...I know what your talking about when you say "haze" Like you can see where the wax was. I tried using less of the NXT to see if it wouldnt happen again.
It kind of worked, less remaining "haze" but still there. Black cars=

For some reason the NXT liquid wax doesn't like to cooperate with my car. The NXT spray wax/ detailer works really well though. I think from now on I'm going to use Gold Class instead of NXT. Go figure...I paid almost $20 for the NXT :bang:

Just did my black bird 2 days ago. I havent put that much effort into detailing this car the last 2 years. Guess Im getting lazy, and now know gettin a new car and dont care as much.
But had the local parts store send out any bottle of wax. They sent the Gold class.
Wasnt bad. And considering its been a long time since the last wax I was happy.
My favorite "cheap" bottle of wax tho, especially for a black car is Zymol.

Me neither as Meguire's makes some great products!
But as far as Zaino is concerned, the ease with which you can take it off... I have never had haze at all..... heck one of the first times I used it, it RAINED halfway through taking it off...... :bang:
After the rain stopped, I finished buffing out the car........
No problems and looked GREAT!
(I have used Meguiars #26 yellow wax though too and that stuff ROCKS)
