It is beautiful. But the real question is, What will it bring? I think most of us do the mods for ourselves realizing the $$$ are unlikely to come back at sale time. But you get the sheer pleasure of the car. Anyone seen auction pricing on heavily modded S-197s?

I dont think it will sell for over 45k....I'm not saying that its not worth it....its just that the new cars are comming out and it is going to be a buyers market for 2005-2009 mustangs very soon.

Cody:

A little off topic here -- but how do you like your 05 Freestyle. I have one that I've run for over 110K trouble free miles -- its my DD -- It has been a great vehicle. Just sort of a testament to under rated Ford quality in my opinion. I think the buyers market on 05 - 09 Mustangs may well depend upon the reception for the new body style. From what I've seen so far, I'm not enamored. I'm sure that an upgraded interior and features will be attractive -- but in my view, every body change from the II forward has been an improvement (obviously the II was not). I'm not sure that the '10 continues that pattern -- but that's my .02.

The car will bring just slightly over what the stock price of a regular Mustang GT Convertable is priced at.

Everyone of us, who have done after market modes and tried to trade or sell have found you'll get less than 50% of what you put in the mods back. Also the miles are working against you.

While I enjoyed the project, I have always believed that cars that are understated rather than having to much on them are more desireable.

This car will sell best to a mustang nut from this site, good luck on your sale........

Nope. Drove her to work this morning. I've not really made much of an effort to sell her. I think I'm going to wait for a 2011 5.0.

Dang...I would feel naughty driving this car if I bought it. Of all the SE S197s, this one just has a certain nostalgic value (IMO) that shouldn't just be passed on to anybody. I'd like to see someone like Jay Leno buy it or something. Maybe there is a Mustang Museum, or Ford Museum that would buy it from you?

I agree on all counts!

I'm betting that it's worth more to you than it is to sell it.
