Hey Brad, How did the installation of the engine start button go. It looks great. I cant wait to get one for me. Would it be possible for you to describe the installation process or post the instructions on how to install it.
Thanks.

The install went fine...Wiring instructions come with the button when you buy it. Things not covered in the instructions are the dismantling of the interior pieces. We removed the console and side trim panels and the instrument cluster bezel and steering column trim(necessary to access wiring) to do the install. You will need to enlarge the power point hole in order for the button to fit.

I just ordered my kit from 50resto and I'm going to have this professionally installed by Speedometer Inc here in the Metro ATL area next week. Question: Will the install of the start button void any warranty?

I'd be interested to see 50Resto's installation instructions. Anybody have a scanner?

My kit is due in on Monday, Oct 24th According to UPS. I'm going to Speedometer, Inc tomorrow AM for some other electrical work on my car (Sequentials) and I'm going to set an appt for Wednesday Oct 26th
in the AM to have them put in the pushbutton start. I'll follow up late next week. Yes, I'm having all my electrical mods installed professionally.

Eric,
If you have the WebElectric sequentials kit, you can do it yourself. It's ultra-simple. The hardest part was finding all the bolts that keep the taillights in.

If anybody needs help installing the kit in the NH/MA area I can do it. I did it myself with the same exact Honda button before the kit came out. I had seen how Miata people on the net had been installing them in lighter sockets and I took a risk and it fit perfect in the Mustang port. You have no idea how happy I was when I picked it up at the Honda dealer and it fit. The Honda parts guy was laughing at me what I told him I was doing with it. I'm happy 50Resto started selling a kit for it, because I was sick of people PM-ing me asking me questions I wanted to see the instructions 50Resto provides because I'm curious to see if the wiring design is better than what John and I came up with. John tapped the juice from the lighter socket connector and I did the same but with a relay that was tapped into the fuse box for more durability. Anyway it's real simple to do, don't be afraid.
Brad you know that start button is from a Honda S2000 right?
I have mine set up so the key turn start is disabled, but I have a hidden switch to re-enable it when I bring it in for oil changes and service. I have a kill switch set up for it too.

any problems when pushing the button with the "oil pressure low" message coming up on the message center a couple of times when you use it?

I start the car, it says oil pressure low for a second, then the gauge kicks in. I think the sending unit for the gauge is bad I don't know. I need to bring my car in for other stuff anyway, so I will get it fixed soon.

This happens to me all the time, ever since I got the car and before I put the button in (I think). You know actually I don't know if it happened before I put the button in because I put it right after I got the car in April.

I think this is all in the timing of when you actually push the button
after the key is turned 'on'. I don't think it is a problem at all. If you notice when you turn the key 'on' the gauge pegs high and then begins descending towards the low end ... If you hit the button to start the car at the same time the gauge is bottoming out you get the message. For those with the issue be concious of the gauge position when you hit the button. Try hitting the button sooner (or later)and it won't happen. It's just the extra second or two that it takes to hit the button that causes the issue. Those who haven't seen this just try starting with the gauge bottomed out and it will happen.
