Custom Mach 1 Seats by TMI

Inspired by Scott Hoag's Medium Lime Metallic 1970 Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet, which has Comfort Weave seats with a stripe to match the exterior paint, I went to TMI to replicate the color scheme on PSH. They modified the stock seat covers to retain side airbag functionality. The center section is black carbon fiber, and the grey stripe, which I believe is a Mercedes color, matches the Tungsten exterior paint. Each pleat has .5" more padding than stock, so these seats are comfy!

I like the overall look but I think the 0.5" thicker pleating just gives it a strange look. Looks ribbed instead of pleated. Maybe after some butt time in the seat they will look different?

I've put a few miles on PSH after these seats were in and I can safely say they are some of the most comfortable ones i've ever sat in. My drive home of an hour doesnt leave me wanting to get out of the car like it normally does.

Late to this thread.. but I wanted to add that I just had Scott put a set of the Mach 1 "Leather Look" seat covers in the Mistress... WOW!!! What a difference! The seats are a lot more comfortable! And the look great!!! Lots of compliments!

My write up with a couple of install pics and final pics are at: http://www.tammyandjohn.com/Mustang/...tang.htm#Seats

That's a great write-up on the seats. Very cool looking I have to say. I may even now think of these over the Pony Seats, or Sport version that TMI makes. Question for you? Where was the install done, at MRT's shop? And if you don't mind saying, how much was the mod (install and all)? Thanks for the info. I reallyl want my blue inserts for my car.

Thanks!

Yes, the install was done at MRT...

As far as pricing... well... I need to keep that to myself... BUT.... I do believe MRT is working on some new LOWER pricing. Also the headrest are now INCLUDED! It's no longer a $99 option... If you have any question on pricing and availiabilty you might want to give MRT a call and ask for Cassie!

BTW... a lot of great comments this weekend at the local Ford show.. I actually let a few people sit in them... they all agreed... these seats are comfy! LOL!

Brad - how is the leather quality (tactile feel) compared to the factory leather.....which IMO is cheap and vinyl like (and yes everyone, I'm only talking about the parts that I sit on, I know the rest of it is actually cheap and vinyl). I've been talking to MRT the past few weeks about ordering/installing the covers but I don't want to spend the money on one "so so" leather interior for another. Your thoughts please !!

Thanks - Mark
